How awesome is this?! I used to be able to stream music, but any videos it wouldn't find because they weren't in WMA format. Now it streams them ALL!

This is the best thing ever! Now I don't have to sit at my PC to watch Pornography!

Is it true that this new update makes it so you need media centre to stream stuff where before you just needed WMP11?

No, you can still just use WMP. When you go to the video, picture, or music area, press the X button to change the media source and you'll get the old menu where you can select Computer. The source defaults to console now.

Really? How? I'd been trying to stream porno since I got my 360 a month ago but it would find the intial folder the videos were in (I labeled it 'tax forms' so everyone would stay out) but it wouldn't find anything.

Use Tversity. Ive been using it since the xbox launched and tversity came out. Anyone using it has always been able to stream all formats.

curious.. how big of a file can you stream? (and do bigger files screw up (buffer etc) more?) ..i'm new to streaming, it's never worked for me before.

i've got no bigger avi's to try (well i have 1, but it doesn't work, and disconnects tversity) it plays my AVI's of UFC fights fine (50 - 100mb's) i'm wondering if it will play a whole movie fine?

I can play ALL avi files, including full movies, ie avi's @ 700MB etc. on a p4 3ghz, 1Gig ram.

Make sure you have done the following:
A) windows media player 11 installed. You only want this installed for its codecs. (make sure sharing is disabled if u had it running before, if its a fresh install, sharing is disabled by default)
B) install the TVersity codec pack (FFDshow etc) and make sure you have latest version of TVersity, 9.11.3 I think released 4th dec 07.
C) Install the AC3 filter.
D) install Xvid codec

thats all I have, although I havent updated to the latest version yet, plan on doing that this afternoon when I get home from work.

My WMP recognizes my 360, but my 360 doesn't recognize my WMP. Windows Media Center works, so it can't be the connection or anything.

strange then. I got sick of all those annoyances hence why I still support TVersity 100% over all the other solutions as its the most simple + reliable of them all IMO, and I have tried them all, including nero home.

Imagine how many 360's MS would sell if they used the tagline of "Stream porno from your PC to your 360 and to your TV with the push of a button!"

The console wars would be over
