I considered them a form of art 100% as well, I dont really see them as science. Hell, my art teacher plays video games lol she loves them we always talk about them, My science teacher has never picked up a controller

Art, by far. All of the science behind them is there to give the artists a bigger pallette.

The real answer is BOTH. If it was not for science we would be telling stories around a camp fire. The Art part is the expressive part, where as the science part is the mechanical aspect..
