It's true - Bungie said it on their latest FAQ about the new maps. I personally think this is totally unfair - My son plays the game all the time and is exited about these new upcoming maps, but he (and I) wont be able to get them beacuse the account is a child account. I paid for the game, and I think I should be able to play DLC for it also.

However, I think I've found a work-around. When I got Halo 3, it came with that "48 hour free gold subscription card", right? well If I make a new account, sign up for gold with that card, and put in my age ( which is over 18 ), wouldn't I be able to download these new maps if only for 48 hours?

$10 is a lot to waste if you can only play them for 48 hrs. I like the new rule, it keeps the youngins out of playing games that they have no business playing. Games are rated for a reason people.

It would download to your hard drive. Even if that account couldn't play them, your other one still could.

No actually, If you buy Content on Marketplace you can only use it with the profile you bought it with. Your normal profile will never load it up. This is so that somebody couldn't download the content and share it with all of their friends.

You can change your family settings so that you are allowed to get it. If not then I hope 14 is considered not a child. :P

But that's just it, it does not do that. Child accounts can still play M games, they just can't download stuff for them. It's as if this rule was created specifically to annoy people, because that's all it accomplishes.

I just tested this by downloading content on one profile. When switching it worked on the other( the content showed up) so I think it is fine.

Well, you're an adult, so why don't you just upgrade the account to an adult account? I've done it myself - all you need is a credit card in your name. Unless of course, it is a child account because of your kid and you want to keep it that way, so I suggest getting your own account then.

no, you can still buy the maps, just as long as your Family Settings doesn't resrict it.
