I'm looking to get my hands on some quality games that allows for 2 player co-op. Preferably something that you can just sit down and enjoy for an evening/night without much hassle. It'll some splitscreen action, since we'll be meeting irl for a couple of brews and laughs, so bear that in mind.

Currently I only have Splinter Cell: Conviction, which should be pretty cool in 2 player co-op right?

Sometime next week I'm getting Gears of War - how that for 2 player co-op?

I'm also looking at Borderlands, but I'm not really sure if that's fun if you only play for one night.

House of the Dead Overkill actually looks hillarious aswell, but while I do have a Wii aswell, I'd still need an extra wiimote and guns and bullets and whatnot, so it could get pricy.

Resident Evil 5 should be built for 2 player co-op right?

Something fantasyish with gear, dragons, quests, damsels in distress and exploration would be cool. Something like Oblivion or Fallout 3, but with 2 player co-op.

Anyway, what are you guys favorite 2 player co-op games?

Looking forward to hearing your ideas, I've only had my 360 for a week so games can be new or old, I haven't played them :)

//Edit - thanks...that was so obvious -_-

I'd pick up rainbow six vegas 2, which has splitscreen coop... both story and terrorist hunt. I remember having lotsa fun with it.

Borderlands splitscreen isn't all that, because the character/inventort screens doesnt fit.. so you have to use the right stick to view the inventory. Maybe they've changed though, been a while since I last tried it.

Army of Two 1/2 were really fun playing co-op. Gears 1 was great, gears 2 was pretty disappointing storywise tho. Borderlands is really fun, but can get boring after a while. Didn't really enjoy splinter cell on co-op tho. Any of the Halo games are great for co-op aswell.

Played a lot of co-op games with my wife-to-be. Splinter Cell: Conviction went down well, Vegas 2, Halo: Reach have all worked really well with us. A lot of people have told me Earth Defence Force 2017 is brilliant in co-op. Sacred 2 has local co-op for your fantasy needs, although I don't know if it's any good for just one evening.

Army of Two are two good games for it. Resident Evil 5 should be good, I've never tried it. I am in the same boat for finding some of these.

Thanks for all the answers.

I had Splinter Cell: Conviction already and I was gettingn GoW anyway and today I picked up RE5 really cheap.

That should keep us entertained for sometime I hope - if not we can always try Left 4 Dead...so hard when you're used to the PC controls :)

I'd really like to try out borderlands aswell, but it seems to require a bit more time than 1.5 half day of gaming.

Thanks again.

Ah Fable co-op sounds very nice - I seem to remember that the co-op part of Fable II got terrible reviews...ign or gamespot video review I think.

But worth checking out for sure, thanks :)
