I'm curious. I'm not a Sony fanboy whatsoever and I didn't want to post this on System Wars because I know the ps3 fanboys would taint the results.

My question is... if Microsoft continues the same way its currently going with all the kinect titles and little to no new exclusives aside from Gears and Fable will you:

A) Abandon Ship and get a PS3

B) Wait until the next gen and get the ps4 instead of the new xbox

C) Stick with xbox though thick and thin

** Notice how I said IF microsoft stays on the same track. It is very likely they'll surprise everyone with lots of cool new exclusives but I'm wondering if they don't go that route what your actions would be.

Also this is my first Poll ever so you might notice its not really a good one but I just felt it easier to do it the way I did. I need this comment box to elaborate.

Please be nice I'm not a troll :P

I have read your reasonings but you should have posted this either in the general discussion forum or in System wars (yes, still).

I dont know what the future holds, but i am certain in one thing: Microsoft would not let the XBOX "go to the cleaners"..What does that mean? It means, the moment they feel there are not any good games coming to the XBOX, they will do something about it. Switching back and forth between systems is not financially prudent and by the way how things are going, there might not be any exclusives in the future. Gaming industry is about making money from making peopla have fun. Why "cripple" the gamer?

Furthermore, you would buy the system you are most comfortable with, or the one you are used to it. I am used to the XBOX 360 because that is the system i bought first. I am satisfied with the gaming selection, the support and the quality of the console (never gotten a RROD).

I completely agree. It is just a shame that companies go where the money is (well of course it is a business after all) I'd like to see a company that genuinely cares about its customers and not making a quick buck.

And yeah I really thoguht about postingg this one System Wars becausse of the inclusion of the Sony brand in a Microsoft forum but its a well known fact that System Wars is swarming with fanboys (most of which are PS3) and I really wanted to just get a good unbiased answer. :) Thanks for repling anyways.

So do you anticipate getting a different system next gen all together or are you just going to stop gaming?

I'm just going to wait for all console to be released instead of getting them at release. That way I will be able to see what is best to buy.

E.g I will let others test the waters for me :P

Haha that is exactly what I did. :P I waited 3 years or so before coming into this gen and the only reason I chose the ps3 was because of the failure rates of the 360. I'm a very paranoid electronics shopper. And like you said I see myself doing the same thing again next gen. Every system has its flaws and I'll want to get the one with the least amount next gen.

D- Wait to see who has the console and features I'm looking for and buy that one. Brand loyalty is for chumps. This is my response. Always will be. Every business is a business looking for money. That is their goal. It always will be their goal. As such as a consumer I should spend my money on what appears to provide what I want. If that means changing brands so be it.

Ok I guess I have to add an E) now too :D. Haha but yeah like I telling GameOfTheRing that's probably the same route I'll take. See which one offers me the most for my money.

Meh, i own all three and will continu to do so through every gen. I'm one of those games that doesn't like to miss out on any good game. Doesn't matter what system its on. Though i do prefer 360 over PS3 mainly because of online is hundred times better if you ask me

I'm not loyal to Xbox at all, I don't really believe in brand loyalty unless it is a really good company. I have never had a game console die on my until I owned my first 360, I bought the new re-design, and if that one dies on me I will not be buying another Xbox ever.KlownMaster

You know that rreally sucks. I don't know what I'd do if a console died on me. Just all the stress it causes on people is just ... bad. When the next gen rolls around I'd probably be willing to take an inferior system over one that has a higher chance of failing on me. I find peace of mind slightly more important than good graphics or what not.

If a console dies on me, i would go berserk and buy a new one, right there the same day, within the same hour. I remember my laptop crashed a month ago (fried motherboard) and i bought a new laptop the same day. It seems technology nowadays really rules our lives, and i do not know what will happen if Facebook or Twitter goes down for a day. There will be grumpy people everywhere.

Well I guess the perfect solution would to be to buy all three or more (who knows) consoles and not miss a thing but I'm assuming the majority probably won't have the resources to do so. I'm currently in college and I'm on a tight budget. I guess I'm lucky I have a sugga mama (my girlfriend). So if worse comes to worse and I can't decide maybe she'll buy me the other console seeing as how I'll probably only want the PS and Xbox since I just got the move and that's pretty much like the Wii HD

I'm slightly more leniant towards the 360 but only just. Had a PS3 for 6 months, then got a 360 and it's still trucking after 3 years nearly. In an ideal world I'd have both consoles as I'm desperate to play Heavy Rain, MGS4, Infamous and others.

I've already jumped ship and play most of my games on my PC and PS3. I shouldnt have to pay $50 a year just to play a game's multiplayer. I dont use XBL for anything else. Now they have the nerve to increase the price for no good reason. During the last generation of consoles, the original Xbox was king but it seems like they're doing everything wrong this time around.

I own all three systems so that's moot. I'm sure I'll get the 720 or whatever it is along with the PS4. For Halo 4 alone. If they overrun the thing with Kinect (or Kinect V 2.0) games and few exclusives outside of their usual Halo/Fable/Gears triad then I'm not going to spend an awful amount of time on it compared to the 360.

ever since i played the original halo at a friends house i jumped from PS to Xbox and though I did buy a PS3 eventually I never thought it was as fun as Xbox. MGS4 and KZ2 were awesome but I only playeed through MGS once and was done, and KZ2 I didn't even finish the single player (mostly because multiplayer was way better). But I must say that even though I've had 2 RROD and had to buy a new Xbox as a result the second time, I've never considered changing my loyalty (I even sold my PS3 after a year). next gen I'll be getting whatever MS offers at launch, and will consider getting Sony's next system if they can get a few more exclusives I'd actually like to play.

why do people with all 3 systems need to mention that and get in here. its not impressing anyone or adding anything to the topic.

I have been with the xbox since Halo:CE. no other game on the PS3 comes close to matching that franchises' replayability to me. The ps3 games i'm interested in are great for single player. If PS3 has a multiplayer game that blows my mind I would consider switching because Im sick of MS and there DLC policy/prices, repair history and LIVE price increases.

I own both PS3/360... I find it pointless to be "loyal" to one specific company. I love the exclusives both consoles has to offer. Why should I limit myself and miss out on great exclusives just so that I can be loyal to one brand. This reason is why I laugh at fanboys.

I will mainly stick with the console that meets what I want. For example, a huge game library, most games on the system are worth my money, an awesome online system, and of course I have never encountered a problem with Xbox support. I do not have that fan boy mentality so if Sony steps up on the next console and makes one that surpasses Microsoft then yes I will go with Sony. But right now, the Xbox 360 IMO is much better than the PS3.

I usually end up with all the major consoles from a given generation. As it stands, Xbox and Xbox 360 are my least favorite home systems from their respective generations. But I still like them.

I own both but whenever I pick up a new game I lean heavily towards the 360. And the major reason for that is that the online features( gamerscore, friends list, dlc etc) for the 360 are better all around imo. The only issue I have against microsoft is the RROD( I've had 4). But as for next gen consoles, I will pick up the system that suits my style of gaming needs best regardless of the manufacturer.

Well I guess the predominant answer (which I didn't have in the poll) would be to own both possibly. I'll admit I was really excited about Kinect prior to all the announced titles. At the moment it does seem like a bunch of shovelware but who knows maybe they will someone manage to cater to the hardcore crowd but I think their main focus at the moment is a whole other crowd. The other thing is XBox Live is better than PSN but like someone stated before its not worth paying 50 bucks just to play online (if that's your only reason you use XBox Live). The only fun multiplayer games I've played online are those that are multiplat as well such as badcompany and fifa and such. Most of the PS3 exclusives don't have much of an online. LBP was meh and as many of you know all of the ps3 excllusive shooters die off pretty quickly...Killzone.

My 360 has been reliable. PS3's? Not so much. I'm set to wash my hands clean of the PS3 between the YLoD's, feature neutering and removing features that had use for those that even less people would find any use for - namely, removing OtherOS and calling it on "security" blanket reasoning, only to get a feature that would require an overpriced TV *and* have the console hacked faster because they chose to piss off the wrong people. I'm not crazy about the motion controls stuff on my HD consoles. It's not what I look to play such games on. And with their prices, it doesn't make sense to get them when I could basically buy another Wii to facilitate my motion gaming fix.

Seeing as I have both Xbox and Ps3, I know that I would stick with it. I play my Ps3 maybe once in a blue moon (played it for a couple of months straight when Demons Souls came out, then Heavy Rain). But on top of that, I haven't play my ps3 since then. The Xbox may not have the most exclusive games, but they are by far better. I actually only own my Ps3 for Heavy Rain, Demon's Souls, and Sly Cooper. I have my Xbox for everything else.

I'm not loyal to any games company or system. Seriously, that's just what I like to call retarded. I'm gonna buy the best console for what I want, and I'm not going to be making my decisions based on some company that could care less about me. Why should I show them loyalty? Can anyone give me one good reason?

I'm with Xbox for as long as Halo is with Xbox. It's the only reason I have one; I'd otherwise have bought a PS3 (there are a bunch of exclusives I want to play on PS3, but I'd rather have Halo that all of them).

I'm going to get a PS3 this gen when my live account runs out in December. That gives me a few months to jam on Halo Reach, and then I am going to let it go. I have been loyal to M$ since the first xbox came out. I signed up to be a beta tester when live first started and have had it ever since. I've been through 2 RROD's , and one bad disc drive. I bought another Xbox when my disc drive crapped out on me. I figure I have spent about $400 on live over the years, and an extra console, plus I upgraded my hard drive to a 120 gb, which I got on sale, but still terribly over priced. When they announced the $10 increase for live, I said thats it. It's not that I can't afford the $10, it's just the principle of it.

If xbox live is becoming free next gen, then i will consider staying, if not i am defintly not getting and xbox, already got all 3 consoles :)

It is is so lame, that you buy a game, and then need to pay to play online with your friends....
