Everything is easier to access. I'm playing a lot of Kingdom for Keflings and Bomberman so I'm getting good use from my avatar. The new dashboard looks alot better when you use your own background, too.
I have to admit, confusing at first. Things not being where they are supposed to be. What really puzzles me is the relationship of the dashboard and the xbox gide button.
So here's the obvious info: the Xbox Guide menu is basically the Blade system, before 11/19. When I'm playing a game, it's way easier to use than the single blade that popped up before. But when your on the dashboard, the Xbox Guide Menu has 85% the same functions the Dashboard does. SO when I'm at the dashboard, I now have 2 ways to go about something, whether it's sending a message or joining a game. I still find the xbox guide easier to use, because I don't want to take the time to learn what the new dashboard can do if I know I can do it faster with the xbox guide menu. I'm pretty damn sure I'm not the only one who thinks this way.
i like the new board but it gets annoying some time and i wish there is a secondary dashboard like the old one with the new features.punkpunkerPress the big button in the middle of your controlpad.. not noticed that its exactly the same as the old blades... with new features.
I really dislike the NXE for several reason:
1. I find it much more difficult to find things.
2. The way things glide across the screen gives me a headache, kinda like motion sickness. I literally have to close my eyes while scrolling until I get close to the movie or friend I am interested in, open them and then slowly scroll one at a time.
3. The avatars are annoying. I guess I am a curmudgen, but I absolutely refuse to make an avatar. I should be able to use a gamer pic in lieu of a avatar. I had assumed that is how it would be for those of us that don't have avatars. Instead, I am stuck with a black silhoutte of a avatar.
Admittedly Netflix is awesome. Other than netflix though, I use my 360 a lot less since the change. It has sort of pushed me back into PC gaming to an extent.
I was quite suprised that the update was so popular in the poll.
Why do people hate it? becasue its hard to navigate? well it might be hard for a todler but not for a 35 year old living in his mothers basment.jollyroger123
I too don't understand how it's hard to navigate though i wouldn't go so far to insult someone.
There are five options you can create when making a poll. The ones I see here are "It's awesome," "It sucks," and "Don't care." How about an "It's okay" or "I like some new features, but not others"? What about gamers demands that they think in binary?
Anyway, I like the party chat and the ability to install games. These are features that should have been implimented a long time ago, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. I thought I'd dislike the Avatars, but they turned out better than I expected. A lot of people like them, and I think they're kinda neat.
On the other hand, I dislike the new dashboard interface. It's not anymore efficient than the old one, and in my opinion, it's actually less so. My biggest complaint is still the friends list. Why can I only have 100 friends? I'm having to constantly find people to delete to add new people. If they allowed us to organize our friends list (like in any instant messaging program), this wouldn't be a problem.
