Finally! Someone else thinks that the designers of the new Prince of Persia game are screwing it all up. I'll admit, the new PoP looks interesting, but I also believe that it is ultimately going to fall flat on its face. Too much anime bull, every battle being a boss battle (boring), and a version of free roaming. What are they thinking?
i think the game is gonna be good, but i still liked the way the sands of time, warrior within, and two thrones looked. It just had that grittier look to it that kept it from looking all cartoony like it is now. Dont get me wrong, Cel shading isnt bad, just the older looks were more favorable IMO.
Lookin for something new and fresh and the new Prince of Persia is it. Why does everyone have to stay in the same mold? I think old IP but great new fresh ideas.
lets be real every normal enemy on prince of persia warrior within and two thrones would die in a combo, so whats the point of having 50 combos? I think thats what PoP was lacking memorable fighting, and dont see it as a boss battle, it will be more of a tough eemy, you know like those berserkers in gears of war, or big daddy in bioshock they werent bosses but htey were tough enemies (if you dont play it cheap)

I can say that I dislike Too Human, because I played a near final build demo of the game, as did you all. If there's nothing to base your opinion off other then some guy's joke reviews, a few screenshots and concept art, then I think you should hold judgement until you actually play it for yourself. You never know, it might just surprise you!
I'm kinda thinking that way about Too Human now. Maybe, even after multiple play throughs, the demo missed something. Some sort of catalyst that will make this game awesome and not the ho-hum medicore pile the demo showed us. I really hope so.

Yeah, but would Gears have been sweet if EVERY enemy was a berserker? I don't think so. It would have gotten tedious.
my only complaint is no free form fighting and "every battle like a boss battle"? wtf? come on . i'll still buy the game regardless. but thats MY only problem with it.
The Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy was designed by Ubisoft Montreal, the same people behind Assassin's Creed. Anyone who has played both will note the similarities. Essentially, Ubisoft decided that there was only room for one realistic looking action/platforming series, and that this generation it would be Assassin's Creed. Prince of Persia was "redesigned" so that it would fit a market that Ubi didn't have covered. It's good business, but it doesn't make me happy. The Sands of Time trilogy are among my favorite games of all time, and I would've preferred a realistic Prince of Persia series instead of the awful cel-shaded design. Yahtzee had it ALL correct.

What does gorgeous have anything to do with a game being good? If the graphics of some game are amazing, but the story and gameplay suck, why would the pretty factor make it worthwhile?

Obviously I haven't played the game yet, but from what I've seen it looks great. Personally I like the idea of one on one fighting and I absolutely like the cel shaded design, but of course it's only my opinion. And in regards to story, it plays absolutely no factor in whether I like a game or not. I can't think of a single game that I thought had a bad story, but have been regarded as such by other people. In short, I like the direction PoP is going.

It's an interesting direction they are taking the game yes. Agreed there, since we are talking opinions, I don't like the direction it is going. I do for sure plan on playing it though because I love the PoP games, and I would love to have my current opinion turned on its butt. Seriously though, you've never played a game that you thought the story was weak?
