See in movies about zombies the zombies all ways have to be shot in the head to get killed. Why don't games have this same feature. Pretty much every games besides RE, which they can still get killed by like blowing off there arms and legs. The zombies and just be shot to death! Even in L4D they can be shot and they die! I want a realistic zombie game.(I mean what movies say zombies are)

So what is your opinion on this?

Because the head is a small target. Try and imagine the huge hordes in L4D and you have to shoot each one in the head. The game would be unplayable.

Yea it would! RE is thrilling! What about a open-world zombie game? Where you have to surive in a city and go out and look for supplies. It could be like STALKER with just zombies!

The term zombie often varies depending on franchise, so there is no universal definition of zombies. The only thing that stays the same universally is that zombies are the living dead. Therefore, your statement is really false.

all you're basing the argument that zombies are slow is from what you've seen in other pieces of media... so why cant a game change it around?

There was a recent post on Kotaku that detailed a PC L4D mod that is either available or close to being released where you have to shoot them in the head. The mod also ratcheted up the difficulty in other areas. He took away the flashlight and weapons, ammo and health packs in the safe rooms! I dont think Id want to play it though. It'd be way too tough.

How dare you not to play it when you like zombies? Well, or hate them. Depends. It's a near perfect zombie game in my eyes. You run through a huge mall and can use about everything to kill them, while looking out for something nice to eat or other survivors.

I want more zombie games and slow zombies can be very interesting. If you look at most zombie movies it's not like two or three there's dozens all over the place. If you decrease the amount of health or supplies around it can be very challenging. Though you should be able to shoot them and cripple them. I'd love seeing more co-op zombie games.

With zombies in general, I don't think they have to be shot in the head, that's just the best way.

Its simple. because getting a head shot makes you feel like you've done something worth accomplishing.

What about 28 days and weeks late? They're zombies, and they're fast. Also, who the hell cares? L4d is very fun. How is it not realistic to shoot a human being once, and for them not to die? if anything zombies should die quicker than humans.

In left 4 dead they are not even zombies, they r infected by some sort of super rabies (it says it in the manuel or website) and as you can tell they do not try to eat your brains they just beat the crap out of you. Either way like they mentiond b4 that wouldnt b such a exciting game with friends as l4d is.
RE is not bad but way to slow 4 my taste.

That's a good point. I don't think there is any game out there that follows textbook (Max Brook) definitions of zombies. know why? it would be boring. In a game with zombies, you'll have perfect accuracy and headshots wouldn't be hard as real zombies are slow. So that's why games take liberties with the way the do zombies. L4D wouldn't be as fun if it had real zombies, fast nimble vulnerable zombies are much more intense to fight. but yeah, good point.

I do understand that this is what you want in a game.. Which is fine, however.. What would the general population say if you "could ONLY kill the bad guys with a shot to one area of the body.", most people wouldnt like that, its boring, the developers probably would like this because they would need less animations, but seriously, programming for a game, that technically has only ONE shootable area, or "kill zone".. does sound kinda lame, and then if you factor in small groups, like you said, and slow moving + stupid... unfortunately this sound like a "de-evolution" of game tech we have developed over the years... This is just my opinion, and yes I do remember the ol Resident Evil 1 days, of slow moving zombies, and yes it would make sense to have more, but the masses pray for action.. so thats what get's made.

AND if its day time, they go uber-useless and can be killed by one armed blind children.. Seriously, go watch the ORIGINAL night of the living dead (black and white).. that was back in the 50's and zombies could move fast (at least at night) if they wanted/needed to (scene of zombies fighting over internal organs in the field)OR once the meteor that is done passing closely by earth atmosphere that it all stops... OR that zombies LOVE shopping malls.... OR that zombies eat brains of their victims, yet that would mean when you shot them in the head, there wasnt a brain to shoot.. which would also TECHNICALLY mean that the zombies would never rise after being "fed-on"... OR ... you get the idea

On Left 4 Dead they aren't actual zombies. They're just infected by a type of super disease, kind of like the rabies. They don't want to feed on human flesh or anything, they just want to kill you. So, they aren't really zombies. They're just humans who are afflicted by a disease that makes them wild and aggressive. So, naturally, they die like humans. The infection wouldn't change how the body works, just how the mind works.

Does anyone remember WAY WAY back when George Romero was gonna release a game?

That would've been cool...
