This is XBOX's only true automotive racing simulation and it's a spectacular one!

It's been a long time before XBOX had anything to really compete with the Gran Turismo franchise. But Forza has finally arrived and is it grand. You start off playing by chosing which region you'd like to be from. There's North America, Europe and Asia. I myself prefer the homegrown stuff so I chose North America. You're allowed to tweak the difficulty of the game to make it a little easier on yourself by turning on assists such as ABS and STM or you can turn everything off turn on real damage and everything and make it as realistic as possible. Note if you decide to turn off Traction Control and ABS you'll have to seriously learn how to modulate the left and right trigger, unless you like spinning out and crashing into walls. There is a benefit to turning off the assists however. The more assists you turn off the more money you're able to earn with the difficulty bonus on top of your winnings and car rarity bonus. The physics in Forza are very realistic forcing you to slow down well before the turn even with all the assists turned on. The problem with the assists is you can't pull off stylish driving meanuvers like fishtailing because the STM will just put the brakes on you, unless you're driving an incredibly high powered car. Let's say you're feeling lazy and don't want to do a few races, well that's cool. You are able to train the A.I. in the game called the drivatar so it can do the races for you. Remeber you have to train it reasonably well or else when you send in your A.I. driver it's going to drive like an idiot. So follow the racing line and drive clean. Forza has the driving part down for a racing game but it also adds a quite indepth car customization feature. While not as deep as Midnight Club 3 it still is better than most racing games. You can even create cars from some of your favorite car movies, I know I did :) Japanese cars allow for more customization with body kits and such while most European and American cars you can only change wheels and modify the engine. It's cool how you can do engine swaps with certain cars too, allowing for a far greater power potential increase. For online play it's pretty much what you'd expect. It's a lot like PGR2. So you can race up to 7 additional people and see who can build a better car. You may also buy and sell cars online which is a pretty cool feature. So for all you XBOX owners longing for a true racing sim you won't be dissapointed with Forza.
