Huge Zelda fan, Huge disappointment.

User Rating: 6.7 | Mogitate Tincle no Barairo Rupee Land DS
I respect the first reviewers opinion, but this game is not a 10 by any standards. If I could understand Japanese, liked breaking my DS screen with incessant tapping, and other such joyful things, I may give this game a high score. Unfortunately, I'm a huge Zelda fan expecting great things from a great series, and this is not it.

GAME PLAY

Basically non-existant. I don't understand how this game is addicting, but it is. One thing I did at the beginning was tap at my screen gleefully as I killed enemies that were so easily killed, it was like Wind Waker. This game I expected map making, and screwing Link out of lots of money, but that didn't happen. The Map making is the only good part of the game. I did enjoy certain parts of the game. But for the most part, I found the game quite boring. The boss I did fight was boring.

I tapped on the screen quickly to kill enemies after I contacted them, slow tapping means more rupees lost, no rupees equals death.

Map making involved circling areas where important objects are. This was the best part. I don't know why, but I enjoyed it, and it saves this game from oblivion in the game play department.

IF A FAQ ARISES I WILL PLAY THROUGH THE REST OF THE GAME AND AMEND MY REVIEW ACCORDINGLY IF IT DOES GET BETTER

GRAPHICS

Kind of GBAish. The bottom screen is for a type writer from what I know... joy. The few graphics I did see in my expedition with this game was generally bland. The funny close ups on the characters were amusing, but overall animation was lacking. I found myself getting bored of the graphics quite quickly, though nothing overly is bad.

SOUND

I didn't like much of the music. I only heard the first couple areas unfortunately. Some of it was good toward the end of where I got, so I'm assuming that the rest of the music is good and I'll once again give the game a break since I was unable to read it.

VALUE

Its in Japanese... so... uh... yeah. I think its a long game, but since I could understand none of it, I'll just give it an 8 based on what I've read from others.

TILT

The story, though in japanese, is blatant enough to get across the point of the story. The fact I had no idea what was going on increased how much I wanted to play the game though. I really would love to complete this game despite my initial feelings.

OVERALL

I'm disappointed, with what I saw so far, but oh well. If I find an FAQ I will beat this game ASAP, but for the non Japanese speaking importer, I feel like this game was a waste based on the first couple areas. Unless I find a sword in the next dungeon or something, I doubt my stance will change.

If anyone finds an FAQ or anything for the game, I'd love to have it so I could complete it. Just message me or something so I can find it. I'll be looking around online also though.
