It is a game with ups and downs compared to guitar hero.
The game has many benefits over Guitar Hero. For 1 the game is free and can be downloaded at the frets on fire website. Another thing is that the game give you the ability to upload any song you want onto the game. Usually you need to go to the FoF website and download the songs of the bands they have if your lucky you will find some of them to your liking. Every song is free and you have as many songs on your game. They also have online charts, fir each song you do it will go under your players name and youll see how good you did amongst other player on that song. Even though people think "oh but you don't have a guitar to play with thats not cool" Wrong you can put a USB guitar on and play with that.
The bad this about this game that make guitar hero good is that you dont have star power in this game. Star power is a multiplyer which alllows you to get extra point during a certain time in Guitar Hero. Also on FoF you can't really lose all you do is get a really bad ranking on the online charts. Also in guitar hero you have an awsome virtual crowd and a band unlike in FOF you don't. There also isnt online competition on the game (unless they made a new version and have it now).
All in All you have a choice here and i can't tell you which is better. GH and FOF kinda balance each other out to be a neutral buy for the player.
