Generic children's 3D platformer #20001

User Rating: 4 | Frogger: The Great Quest PS2

I found Frogger TGQ at a salvation army. Since I like 3D platformers I'd thought I'd buy it. What a misfortune.

The game is insulting to all audiences. It tries to be as childish as possible that it could be an adult swim game. It's nothing like the Frogger you remember as a kid. This felt like it was made by a board of directors from America.

Frogger The great quest is about saving a fairy tail princess.

The graphics suck. They are the most PSP looking ass game ever. The worlds have nothing in them. The art style is generic yet inviting . They are blocky and blurry. But that's excusable. What isn't excusable is that the character designs and animations are very stiff and lifeless. It is basically every PS2 game ever but worse.

The gameplay is generic collect-a-thon fodder. This has nothing to do with crossing roads and saving baby frogs. No it's just collect the McGuffin. To make matters worse the controls suck. Combat is mapped to 1 or 2 buttons. The jumping is soooooooo floaty! There is nothing to the jumping. It feels unfinished. Frogs don't float when they ribbit. That's weird.

The music is kiddy and the voice acting is bad to. It's like a Timmy the tooth but worse.

Overall. Frogger the Great Quest is pretty mid. I don't think you'd buy it
