There are a lot of strange and very utterly bizarre games out there that are super, super weird but you are able to get a laugh out of it. A game like Funny Truck on the other hand is a cheaply made game that literally goes into WTF territory and makes you wonder “What the hell did I just play?” “Why does this exist?” There is absolutely nothing remotely funny about this just from how the game plays, sounds and how it looks.
Funny Truck is simply just a driving game in one singular, small but yet messed up sandbox environment, by messed up I mean what am I driving on? It is literally a clustered environment filled with randomly coloured road hills that you jump off planted on a dessert field that happens to be in the air. This is why that the game costs so cheaply because the graphics look so disgusting and everything about it looks all thrown together.
There is really no goal in the game other than you drive around and do jumps which will cause people in your truck to fly off where you earn points for doing so. You do this till you either get enough points which will drop you some measly trophies and eventually a super easy Platinum Trophy on your PlayStation account, get bored and shut the game or bang your head on a desk when you realize how stupid the physics are. First up the truck is full of fat people that are just very flat and clearly are ragdolls and how is the truck able to respawn people back on to the truck and keep shoving people out of it? It's like how many people can fit onto the truck before they end up flying off when you jump off the hills. There really is no goal to this game what-so-ever you just drive around to make those fat people who both look like guys in undies who crapped themselves to other kinds of badly detailed folks that I honestly describe fly out of your truck all the while an awfully bad musical rendition of Nutcracker plays in the background. Even controlling your truck is not as simple as it should, the acceleration is mapped to the left analog stick but the steering not handled very well. When you move the left analog stick in a direction the truck adjusts and accelerates in a direction that the left stick is pointed to rather than steering and handling correctly, this causes the driving to be awkward to handle. You can do some tricks in the air like doing 360s and other spins but they are very difficult to pull off and honestly don't have a purpose considering you can just get the points by finding an open spot on the map and then you rapidly spinning around till you get enough points to earn your Platinum Trophy. Yeah, this is one of those games designed to be an easy Platinum Trophy hunt game for people who are just interested in earning Platinum Trophies.
Getting all of the trophies in the game will take you about 12 minutes and is there any value to this game other than it is just yet another cheap download game that anyone who is both desperate for a cheap game to download or a straight up Platinum Trophy to unlock? Nope of course not. There is simply nothing funny or amusing about the game and you will find the find the game rather tiresome and unfunny within a minute or so and want to get out of it and move on to other games that are worth your time. It's good side that at least it is very cheap to pick up as it costs £0.79 on the PSN Store but then I picked up a game on the same store Spectrewoods which was £0.20 and had just as much content and value as this. I do feel bad for wasting my money on something like this but at least it wasn't a full price game with the intent that it came out as an finished product and if that isn't even a word of praise that this game has then I don't know what is.
