Not bad...it's at least worth renting
That being said, there's quite a few drawbacks to the game.
Gameplay: The controls are sluggish. Even when the characters run, they're not moving very fast, and the gameplay is repetitive. Levels are filled with platforms you have to jump and enemies to kill. While it's not bad for the first few levels, it gets redundent.
You can play as Fry, Bender, Leela, and in one level, Doctor Zoidberg. Some of the levels are downright frustrating, such as one level where Bender is being persued by a boulder Indiana Jones style, and the level where you play Dr. Zoidberg riding some kind of warthog.
The camera and aiming are very frustrating, but the only character who uses ranged weapons is Fry. Bender attacks with his arms, and Leela utilizes martial arts. The short-range characters can be just as frustrating because of the time it takes to preform their attacks.
Graphics: The graphics are actually pretty good. The characters are rendered with 3-D cell shading. Personally, I think it might have been better if they were left with a more 2-D style. In fact, the game might have been better as a side-scroller. As it is, the graphics aren't bad. The levels are peppered with little nuances that keeps the game true to the show.
Sound: The sound is excellent. The music is very reminescent of the music used in the shows, and as I mentioned above, the voices were done by the show's voice cast. The sound effects are great too.
Value: This game really isn't great for replay value. Once you finish it, you might be inclined to go back and collect all the Nibblers, but other than that, there really isn't much reason to play the game more than once.
The lowdown: Futurama is a great game for fans of the show. They'll love how true it is to the original, if they don't mind wading through the gameplay. I would recommend that if you want to play it, you should just rent it, because it's not worth buying.
