The best adventure game out there.
You really get to know the characters, where in a way I formed a sort of relationship with each of them. Thats how well this story is written, straight from novelist Jane Jensen. While the game has aged considerably, it really doesnt detract from anything. The art the characters are portrayed in, has aged as well.. however their personas are larger than life. You can tell a lot of work has gone into them, and this all may be in part because of the great voice actors that were cast for the game, most notably Tim Curry playing the main character of the story (Gabriel Knight) and Mark Hamil playing the role of Detective Mosley.
If your looking to get into the classic old school adventure games, theres no better place to start than with the Gabriel Knight series. The story will knock your socks off, and resonate in your mind for a very long time. I cant help but always think of what a great movie this would have made as well.
Trust me.. I dont hand out 10's like candy (like some reviewers do) but this is probably the only game in my mind, that deserves it. The perfect score, for the perfect game.
