Light years better than the first game, tough AI, great ship builder, etc....

Stardock is probably the best company at responding to customer feedback in the gaming industry! For many of us who played the first installment in the series, it was great fun but was missing some things. I basically wanted MOO2 mixed with Gal Civ's killer AI and an interface that was less ugly and more accessible. A whole lot of other people felt the same a voila a sequel better than the original. If you like strategy games this one is right up there with Civ IV, however Civ IV to me is still more polished. Something that needs to be improved in Gal Civ 2 is the tech tree it is too large with much of the techs not resulting in much of an improvement over the tech prior to it. Nevertheless, they don't make games like this very often, never if you count the level of support that goes with this game.
