True to the original

I gave this game a fairly high score mainly because it is true to the original. Having played the hell out of Galaga back in the early 80’s, and into the 90’s when I would come across a machine, I appreciate maintaining the original. However, they could have added a little bit. Maybe have different game modes with the original being just one. I both like and dislike the ability to continue any game from the last level that you achieve. This makes the achievements portion a little pointless though.

Most likely if you are 30 or older you will enjoy this port and for $5 what’s not to like. I think the people giving this game a low score fail to realize that it is a 25 year old game and are rating it as if it was more recent. Having myself achieved the rating of “hella old-school” on gamespot without them even acknowledging that there were PC games on the IBM clones (TRS-80) back in the day shows how I may have a different opinion than the masses. Anyway, If you like “hella old-school” you will enjoy this title.
