Two USB Ports on Switch's Base
A close-up of the Switch's base revealed what looks to be two USB ports. We're assuming these ports will be used to charge the Joy-Con controller or connect additional devices.
Nintendo Switch Games Aren't Disc-Based
A quick shot during the airport scene indicates that Switch games will be cartridge-like SD cards, as opposed to discs. Further supporting this point, there's a liftable flap on the console that's labeled "Game Card." It's currently unclear if Switch will support other formats.
Switch Will Have Strong Third-Party Support
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is seen being played on Switch a few times throughout the trailer, and there's also an instance where people played an NBA 2K game. While none of these games are officially announced to be on the console, it does indicate Switch will have strong third-party support. After the trailer's release, Nintendo revealed an extensive list including several developers and publishers confirmed to support Switch, such as Activision, EA, Square Enix.
Shoulder Buttons
Like the Wii U gamepad, the Joy-Con controller will also feature ZL and ZR shoulder buttons.
Standard Headphone Jack
The Switch will sport a standard headphone jack, which can be found next to the console's game card slot.
No Second Screen
The Switch seems to lack a second screen; this finally confirms that Wii U's gamepad screen won't add anything imperative to the experience of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
New Mario Kart Content
You can spot what appears to be a new update for Mario Kart 8, showcasing King Boo as a playable character, as well as the ability to store two items. It's unclear how these new features will be accessed, or if they'll be exclusive to a Switch version of the game.
New Mario Game
A lady can be seen playing what appears to be a new Mario game; the footage shows the iconic Italian plumber jumping around a colorful city, being sure to avoid an incoming bullet bill.
Amiibo Support
As the lady plays the new Mario game, you can also see several amiibo below the television screen, next to the Switch. Amiibo support for Switch has been officially confirmed by Nintendo.
A Glimpse of the Switch Pro Controller
Like Nintendo's Wii and Wii U, Switch will also have a Pro controller. Its design closely resembles Microsoft's Xbox One controller, with asymmetrical analog stick placement.
There Might Not Be Touch Support
All throughout the trailer, you might've noticed that the only interaction with Switch was through a controller. This could be an indication that the console might not have touch support, which was a primary feature of Wii U.
New Hairstyles in Splatoon
The big Splatoon esports event at the end revealed new hairstyles in Splatoon. Additional footage also showed off what appears to a new multiplayer map.
