All The New Games You Can Play On Switch Today After The Nintendo Direct

The February 2024 Nintendo Direct took place earlier today, featuring an array of third-party titles. Some were brand-new announcements, including Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance and Star Wars Battlefront: Classic Collection, to name a few, which we'll be seeing more of throughout 2024. In the meantime, there's a sizable number of games available today.

From surprise releases to additions for Nintendo Switch Online, here are all the new games and demos you can play on Switch today after the Nintendo Direct.

Developed by the team behind Sonic Mania, Penny's Big Breakaway is a vibrant 3D action platforming game. It's available now on Switch, as well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

One of the most unique takes on solitaire has been remastered for Switch. Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On brings the 3DS game with a visual upgrade and new rules that encourage more strategic play. There's also a demo available for it.

If you have been asking for a way to play Suika Game with others, good news, as the multiplayer mode expansion pack is now available. There are three modes available--original, time limit, and attack. As of now, it's only local multiplayer, but online will be added "in the future" for this same expansion pack. Remember that you'll need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play.

Developer Vanillaware of Dragon's Crown and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim fame is back with Unicorn Overlord, the team's take on the tactics genre. If you're keen to see what the game has to bring to the genre ahead of its release on March 8, there's a demo available for you to try.

Contra: Operation Galuga, the reimagining of the classic run 'n' gun from the 80s, releases on March 12. Ahead of launch, there's a demo for you to try and see if the essence of the original holds its ground after all these years.

Pepper Grinder, one of Devolver Digital's games for 2024, is an action platformer that features a drill as a main traversal mechanic. The game got a demo on Steam recently, but if Switch is your platform fo choice, you can now give it a go on the console. It's releasing on March 28.

It's not technically out today, sure, but close enough to justify a mention. Pentiment, previously Obsidian's Xbox console exclusive, has you uncovering the truth behind a series of murders in a narrative-driven adventure. It releases tomorrow on Switch, expanding the initial launch lineup of Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

Last but not least, Nintendo announced new additions to its Switch Online catalog, the batch focused on Rare games. Killer Instinct and Batletoads In Battlemaniacs are part of the SNES library, while R.C. Pro-Am and Snake Rattle N Roll join the NES lineup. If you're subscribed to the more expensive Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, you also get access to Blast Corps in the Nintendo 64 catalog. All five games are available today.
