They also aren't marked on your map, and using investigation mode won't yield any clues either. Thankfully, our guide has all the details that you need.

Where to find all Origami Butterflies in Assassin's Creed Shadows

The 10 Origami Butterflies that you need to obtain are part of a bigger quest called The Butterfly Collector. You can refer to this guide for the other relevant steps that involve hunting down kidnappers.

To get started with your Assassin's Creed Shadows Origami Butterfly task, you must first head to the village of Katano in the Izumi Settsu region. It's due northeast of the city of Osaka.

While roaming around, you might hear NPCs talking about a rumor. If you go to the ornament vendor, which is sandwiched between Katano Oil Trading and Katano Castle, you'll meet a woman called the Gamemaker.

• The Gamemaker wants you to find 10 Origami Butterflies in the western part of Osaka. These items are plastered on trees.
• As mentioned earlier, the locations won't be marked on your map, and investigation mode won't yield clues. You really need to keep your eyes peeled.
• Some of these origami are actually letters addressed to kidnappers who are members of the Butterfly Collector group.
• We recommend finding all the origami items first before hunting down your targets.

Approach the island jutting off the peninsula from the north. This item is on a tree by the river.

If you head west from the above location, you'll stumble upon a yard with several cats and woodcutting equipment.

From there, head to the street next to the river in the west. You'll see another paper item that's slightly hidden behind some bushes.

There are a couple of Assassin's Creed Shadows Origami Butterfly locations near the center of this area:

• The Red Origami Butterfly is plastered on a tree just north of the Temple of Osaka.
• The White Origami Butterfly is in a small shrine just across the street to the southwest.

Head to the eastern part of this area close to the riverbed. There's another Origami Butterfly, but this one contains a Letter to Shucho, one of the kidnappers.

Walk along the street to the south where all the market stalls are. One of the trees next to a stall has another item.

This last one is in the southwestern part of the island near the Fisherman's District. If you already picked up the Letter to Shucho, then you probably have a quest marker for The One That Got Away. The item is fairly close to that marker.
