Avengers Endgame: 22 Burning Questions After Seeing The Marvel Movie

Avengers: Endgame had an amazing opening weekend, shattering box office records, as expected--anticipation for the movie was at a boiling point. More than likely, you've already seen the movie once--or even twice--by now, and you probably have some burning questions about the plot or the characters within the Marvel film.

Warning: There are Endgame spoilers ahead, so if you haven't seen the movie yet, maybe take a minute to check out our spoiler-free review and learn when the best times are to use the bathroom during this three hour long movie.

While we loved Endgame, thinking back about the latest MCU movie, there were things that either didn't sit well with us or that we wanted to learn more about. It's time to open up some of the discussion when it comes to time travel, the missing five years, and how everyone got to that final battle so quickly. Infinity War established that you have to sacrifice something you love. But with the way the scene between Clint and Nat played out in Endgame, it pretty much feels like a Thunderdome situation where "two people enter and one person leaves...with a glowy rock."

Red Skull is on Vormir to tell people how to get the Soul Stone, but what does this dude do in his spare time? It seems really boring. Vormir's biggest selling point is the view, but Red Skull has been there for like 70-something Earth years, and that setting has probably lost its luster.

This is really frustrating. You can't go back in time and kill Thanos because it creates a splintered timeline where he doesn't exist, but it doesn't affect their timeline because the Thanos Snap still happened. But how can Steve Rogers go back in time, live a full life, and still pop up in the present as an old man? The movie's time travel rules are borked.

After Captain America went on ice, Peggy Carter got married--to a man Cap saved during WWII--and they had two children together. If Steve Rogers and Peggy got together, those two kids never existed. Did Steve technically murder them?

Do they just disappear or do they coexist with the kids Rogers and Carter had together? If Steve just appears in this timeline, affecting the past, where did the rest of Carter's original lineage go? I am very confused now.

The armies of Earth--and the rest of the galaxy--know exactly where to go after being unsnapped. Wasn't there a moment of "What happened?" for all these characters, and how did they all know to go to the former Avengers Compound?

From NYC to upstate New York, to… the middle of a desert? No matter where the Avengers HQ goes, disaster follows. Maybe they should just relocate to the moon where there will be no random casualties.

All of the mystic folks on Earth--and in space--opened gateways for people to lead them into the final battle in Endgame. But how was this coordinated? Is there a form of mystic direct communication between them all? If so, I would like to know how it works.

During the five years after the snap, Thanos became an inter-galactic farmer, but what happened to his massive army? Did they get their own space farms to hang out on? Seeing that there were thousands of Chitauri warriors and Outriders present at the Battle of Wakanda, where did they go after the war was over?

Red Skull said you need to sacrifice something you love in order to get the Soul Stone, a soul for a soul. So, if Captain America went back and time to give Red Skull back the Soul Stone, shouldn't he get a soul in return, i.e. Black Widow?

If Steve Rogers can go back in time, live his life, and show up in the main timeline, where is Gamora? Thanos is dead, before he sacrificed Gamora, so she should be hanging out somewhere. Let's be real: Steve Rogers showing up as an old man at the end of the movie creates a ripple effect of plot holes.

One of the most interesting turns in the five-year gap is Hawkeye turning into an ultra-violent vigilante. Sure, the conclusion of this story is Clint holding hands with Nat, but did he just go full-blown Punisher international overnight, or was there a gradual descent into this homicidal vigilante? Regardless, I'd like to see this as a movie. But again, the ending will probably suck. Clint holds Nat's hand, credits roll.

After Infinity War, Nat took on a director-type role for the Avengers. She hosts meetings, makes plans, and feels like she's transformed into a character on par with Nick Fury. She's emotionally teetering between keeping it together and completely falling apart. She's taking the future of the world on her shoulders, and I'd like to see a movie about her ascension into this role.

The diner sequence where Hulk takes selfies with fans is a really fun but completely throwaway moment. But there is a movie about Hulk being a light during the darkest time in human existence that could be a nice bridge between the two Avengers movies while living in its own little pocket of the MCU. I'd also really like to see the process of melding the two characters of Hulk and Banner together.

How do you become a celebrity when half the world has been erased from existence? What do you have to do to become a beacon of hope?

There are a lot of questions I have about Captain Marvel, her whereabouts, and her actions during this movie. Her saying that beings across the universe are dealing with the same thing, so she needs to help them, isn't satisfactory when Earth is ground zero for this galactic problem. She serves as deus ex machina instead of developing this character further, which is a bummer. Her logic doesn't make sense in the grand scheme of things.

Anyone else think there's a good movie there as well? Captain America traveling through time to return the Infinity Stones could be a lot of fun to watch as a feature film. I'm sure it wasn't a very easy mission for him, but he did have Mjolnir to help him.

That red liquid from Thor: The Dark Word is the Reality Stone, but how does it become that? Is there a cool machine that presses it into the stone, or is it some magical, cosmic thing? I want to see the process.

I just want to see more Skrulls. I love how Captain Marvel dealt with this group of aliens, who are traditionally villains. Were they at the final battle against Thanos?

After Thanos went to The Garden, the Avengers were trying to find out where he was, so they could fix everything that's happened. Nebula mentions that her father was going to this place, then Rocket jumps in to say that a couple days prior there was a planet with cosmic energy that matches the snap. Why was Nebula needed for this conversation? Should we have just jumped a couple days prior to saying, "Oh hey, we know where Thanos is?"

I went on a website that tracks flights, and saw that at any time of the day, there 15,000 planes flying around the world. Let's do way too much math, and think about the Thanos Snap some more. In a situation where both the pilot and co-pilot get snapped, there would be about 25% of the planes in the air without someone to fly them: 3,750. Most planes hold around 200 people, but since they've been snapped, it's about 100 on average.That's 375,000 travellers that will perish because their planes crashed without a pilot. Do those people come back to life after Thanos' snap is undone or are they casualties of war? The same could be said for any other form of transportation, but I don't want to do anymore mathematics.

She's been gone five years, but she somehow made a call to Clint after returning. Did her phone also get snapped and disappear with her, and if so, did it stay at the same level of charge? A phone isn't a living being, so it shouldn't have been snapped with her. If it stayed at the farm, did Clint have her phone always plugged in at home, just in case she came back?
