Are you planning to solve the Gallery Puzzle in Blue Prince? This is one of the toughest challenges in the game, a brain teaser that could easily cause headaches due to how it's structured and presented. Our guide here has all the details that you need to complete this task. Also, this article has a minor spoilers, too.
How to solve the Gallery Puzzle in Blue Prince
The Gallery is a room that you may encounter several hours into your playthrough. It has a higher rarity compared to other puzzle rooms like the Parlor and Billiards/Darts area. Thankfully, while this activity might be difficult, you only need to complete it once.
Our Blue Prince Gallery Puzzle guide first looks at the concepts and clues related to this challenge. Then, we'll talk about the solutions.
What is the Gallery Puzzle?
The Gallery contains four art paintings designed by Christopher Manson, the author of Maze: Solve the World's Most Challenging Puzzle (which was also one of the inspirations for the game).
These paintings are abstract depictions of certain ideas or concepts--several objects are related, though some are meant to throw you off. Each section requires you to form a word that best describes what the painting is all about. In fact, the answers themselves are all connected in some way. Think of the solutions as somewhat similar to "coming up with ideas" or "brainstorming."
Gallery Puzzle 1 - Thick and handcuffs
Let's start off with the easiest painting to solve in the Blue Prince Gallery Puzzle. It's the one that requires a five-letter word:
- The word "thick" is drawn, but only the "thic" part is enlarged.
- The letter "k" is thinner.
- There's a flying hand with handcuffs.
Answer: THINK - This is primarily because "k" appears thinner compared to the other letters.
Gallery Puzzle 2 - Wagons
This painting requires a six-letter word:
- There are two wagons loaded with roses and stop signs.
- The letter P is on one of the wagons, but the objects appear reversed.
Answer: PONDER - The letter "P" is placed "on" "red" objects that are reversed. "Red" becomes "der" in this case.
Gallery Puzzle 3 - Eyes
The third Gallery painting requires an answer that's a seven-letter word:
- Several eyes are illustrated.
- There's a sign that says "Actual Objective."
- There's a bottle that says "Genu" and a wine glass.
- Lastly, there's a table shaped akin to a partial word: "veri."
Answer: REALIZE - The words "actual," "genuine," and "veri(table)" are synonymous to the word "real." And then you also have lots of eyes.
Gallery Puzzle 4 - Sins and infinity symbol
This painting in the Blue Prince Gallery Puzzle requires an eight-letter word as an answer:
- The seven deadly sins are written--i.e. hubris, envy, lust, etc.
- The infinity symbol has several pins stuck to it.
- There's also a drawing of a shark's fin.
Answer: RUMINATE - The infinity symbol is basically the number 8. Counting the seven deadly sins, you have eight notable objects, since the shark is meant to throw you off. All of these objects are also in a room.
Gallery Puzzle reward
Once you input the correct answers for each puzzle, the pedestal in the middle will open. You'll receive a couple of gems, as well as the Key 8. It cryptically mentions that it will "presumably unlock Room 8."
