Borderlands 3's Best Legendary, Rare, Very Rare Guns: All The Fun Weapons We've Found So Far

If you're familiar with the Borderlands games, then you'll know that it always has an abundance of guns to collect. So as you'd expect, Borderlands 3 keeps in line with this tradition and has even exceeded the number of guns available compared to previous games. Whether you earn them from side missions or they're dropped by a Maliwan soldier, you're rarely going to experience a shortage of loot. In the face of patch fixes and changes to the game, one thing that never changes is the plentiful supply of guns. There's really so much, and with the upcoming Bloody Harvest DLC finally detailed, we know even more guns are on the way.

Many of the cool guns in Borderlands 3 are your basic assault rifle, pistol, or shotgun with a cool paint job while others offer way more over-the-top functionality. The team at GameSpot has sunk dozens of hours into the game so far and have discovered plenty of guns from brands DAHL, Hyperion, XOV, Vladof, Torgue, Maliwan, Atlas, and Tediore in our respective playthroughs. Below you can find some the wildest top-tier guns we've found across the higher-tier Rare (Blue), Very Rare (Purple), Legendary (Orange) categories, as well as details on their stats and other peculiarities.

If you've never been a fan of the franchise, it's unlikely Borderlands 3 does enough things differently to change your mind, as the game best excels at continuing what the series has always done: deliver a humorous tall tale of misfits looting and shooting their way to heroism."

*A Tediore SMG that on reload is thrown at enemies and explodes like a grenade. However, if thrown onto the ground, it roams around on its own and fires at enemies until out of ammo.

*A Torgue rocket launcher that fires hamburgers with all the condiments. It does knockback damage but then explodes soon after, sending bandits flying.

*A COV pistol that fires sonic waves of doom that look cool but actually just do regular physical damage.

*A COV rocket launcher that fires Irradiated “waste.”

*A Maliwan SMG that doesn't require much time to charge before firing.

*A Dahl SMG that fires a “V” pattern of sparking bullets.

*A COV pistol that doesn’t spend any ammo.

*A burst-fire Jakobs assault rifle whose bullets ricochets when getting critical hits.

*A DAHL assault rifle that lobs bullets in an arc.

*This Maliwan pistol shoots a tracking bullet onto enemies that results in a ball of thunder to drop from the sky onto them.

*This Torgue assault rifle shoots electrified bullets.

*This Hyperion SMG has a shield that absorbs bullets back into its magazine.
