Dexter Is Killing People Again In First Images From Prequel Series Original Sin

Here we go again

Paramount+ With Showtime has published the first images for the upcoming Dexter prequel show Dexter: Original Sin. The images show off the younger versions of the characters from the main show, including Patrick Gibson as Dexter Morgan, Christian Slater as Harry Morgan, and Molly Brown as Debra Morgan.

On the original show, these roles were played by Michael C. Hall, James Remar, and Jennifer Carpenter, respectively.

In one of the particularly dramatic photos, we see a young Dexter apparently preparing the snuff the life out of one of his victims. In a warmer moment, we see Dexter and his father in their kitchen, and another photo shows young Debra with a big smile.

The prequel series, which has 10 episodes, is set in 1991, which is 15 years before the events of the original Dexter series. The show will follow young Dexter as he transitions in his life from student to "avenging serial killer."

"When his bloodthirsty urges can't be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry, he adopts a code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcements' radar," reads a line from the show's description. "This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department."

Dexter fans may be happy to know that Clyde Phillips, Dexter's original showrunner, is coming back for this new series, as is Hall in an executive producer role.

Original Sin is just the latest Dexter spin-off, following 2021's Dexter: New Blood. This show picked up after the events of Dexter and the story involved Dexter and his son doing what they do best.
