All The Games EA Showed Off At Its Press Conference
E3 2017 began earlier than ever this year, kicking off on Saturday with EA's press conference at its EA Play event. Although the conference itself doesn't open until Tuesday, EA showed off a bunch of cool games and revealed new projects yesterday.
Star Wars: Battlefront II was the highlight of the show, but EA also gave us a glimpse of Need For Speed: Payback, A Way Out, and BioWare's new IP, Anthem. You can see all the trailers from the conference here, but we've also gathered up all the games that appeared at its conference in this gallery.
And remember to keep an eye on GameSpot's E3 2017 hub for all the news, impressions, videos, and more coming out of the convention this week.
Madden 18
The press conference started out with a bit of Madden news. Madden 18, following the lead of last year's FIFA installment, will feature a story mode. Called Longshot, it stars House of Cards and Moonlight actor Mahershala Ali and follows a football player with the goal of making it to the NFL. You can see the trailer here.
Battlefield 1
Although it came out last year, Battlefield 1 still had a prominent position in EA's conference. The game will get new maps later this year, including a few set during the night. Its upcoming expansion In the Name of the Tsar will mark the first time in the series that female characters will be playable in multiplayer.
FIFA 18
EA talked about the next installment in the FIFA series, which features the return of Alex Hunter in its story mode, called The Journey. It'll be a continuation of the story from FIFA 17.
In addition, EA revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo has a greater role in this year's game, due to the time he spent being motion-captured by the developer. The company also detailed the differences between the Switch version and the other versions.
Need For Speed: Payback
EA finally gave us a glimpse of Need For Speed: Payback's gameplay, and it looks a lot like the high-octane action of a Fast and Furious movie. You can read more about the game here.
A Way Out
Hot on the heels of the Need For Speed footage, EA revealed its first new game of the day, A Way Out. It's a cooperative action game from the developer of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and it looks very interesting. You can take a look at its first trailer and read more about it here.
Anthem
After talking about it for quite some time, BioWare finally unveiled its new IP, called Anthem. Although EA didn't show any gameplay at its conference, it promised a bigger reveal at Microsoft's press briefing today.
Anthem is a sci-fi title featuring a massive, Game of Thrones-esquewall. You can read more about its announcement here.
NBA Live 18
NBA Live 18 will feature a new, campaign-like mode called The One. It lets you play as a custom character who tries to make it big in the NBA; you'll be able to specialize your character into whatever type of character you want.
A demo is launching in August, and any progress you make in it will carry over to the full game. You can read more about it here.
Star Wars: Battlefront II
EA spent a lot of time talking about Star Wars Battlefront II, and it showed gameplay for the first time. It also announced that the game's maps, modes, and characters will be free, but there will be microtransactions.
You can check out multiplayer footage here. In addition, we were able to go hands-on with the campaign, and you can read our preview here.
