There are 50 Scadutree Fragments in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, and these increase your character's offense and defense. However, this buff is only active in DLC areas (i.e. the Realm of Shadow and not the Lands Between). Similar to Revered Spirit Ashes, upgrades can be done via Sites of Grace when you select the Shadow Realm Blessing option. Note that the item costs increase the higher the upgrade level.

Generally speaking, every Miquella's Cross tends to have a Scadutree Fragment. Apart from this, there are also a couple of enemy types that drop the upgrade material when they're slain. These are Hippopotamus-type beasts and Jar Carrier Spirits (you need to kill them before they drop the jar to ensure that you can loot the item). Likewise, the items might be found near or in front of statues with outstretched arms.

Found in the Church of Consolation in the southeastern part of the zone.

Head east from the Scorched Ruins waypoint and take out the Jar Carrier Spirit in the graveyard.

Right next to the Three-Path Cross, likely the first Miquella Cross you'll stumble upon while playing the DLC.

Go west from the Three-Path Cross and you'll arrive at the Main Gate Cross in front of Belurat Tower Settlement.

Once inside Belurat, continue advancing until you reach the rooftops with the Gravebirds. From there, you should see a narrow street and, to your right, there's some rubble next to a doorway. Check behind the rubble to find a well-hidden opening that leads to the Belurat Interior Cross.

From Belurat Main Gate Cross, look for a narrow path along the cliffside that takes you to the Cliffroad Terminus waypoint. Then, follow the dirt path to the southwest to reach this graveyard, which has a Jar Carrier Spirit.

There's a statue between Ellac Greatbridge and the pathway that leads to Castle Ensis. The Castle Front Site of Grace is also near.

From the Castle Front waypoint, follow the road leading south-southeast to arrive at the Pillar-Path Cross.

Enter Castle Ensis. You'll find another cross just before the main gate.

After defeating Rellana Twin Moon Knight in Castle Ensis, the exit to Scadu Altus should open. The Highroad Cross is just a short distance away.

Grab this item from a statue inside a camp that's west of the Moorth Ruins Cross.

Directly east of Highroad Cross is the Moorth Ruins Cross, which is also where you can learn unarmed combat/martial arts.

Go south past the collapsed buildings in Moorth Ruins and check the rocky crags for a Jar Carrier Spirit. Watch out for the Ascetic/Curseblade that's lurking nearby.

Follow the road south of Moorth Ruins, then hang a left once you see a dragon overworld boss. There should be a spiritspring near the base of the plateau. This lets Torrent jump high up into the air, allowing you to reach the Scaduview Cross at the end of the sloping path.

From the Moorth Ruins checkpoint, go north until you see Glowy Worms around a pond. There's a statue just beyond. Note that the tunnel leads to Rauh Base, too.

From Highroad Cross, keep going north until you see a camp that's guarded by several Messmer Soldiers and a Furnace Golem. The item is in front of a Marika Statue.

Enter the Church of the Crusade, which is just northwest of Highroad Cross. Watch out because you'll get invaded by a fella named Fire-Knight Queelign.

Upon reaching Rauh Base, follow the path and river that leads to the southeast until you see the Temple Town Ruins. There's an opening at the southern wall, allowing you to enter the settlement. The Scadutree Fragment itself is on an elevated walkway, which you can access by double-jumping with Torrent.

These are the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Scadutree Fragments in the southern part of the map. You'll have to trek through rivers and caverns to reach Cerulean Coast/Charo's Hidden Grave, as well as the Dragon's Pit dungeon for the Jagged Peak.

From the Cerulean Coast fast travel point, head further south until you see a marker with the region's map. Keep going south and you'll spot the Cerulean Coast Cross.

This particular Scadutree Fragment in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is in the Stone Coffin Fissure dungeon. You'll visit this location as part of Thiollier's quest.

From the Cerulean Coast - West waypoint, travel along a winding ravine that leads north. There should be a small cave near some Surprised Emoji Worms.

While exploring Charo's Hidden Grave, you'll see a hippopotamus enemy basking in a pond. Take it out to receive this item.

Continue past the Foot of the Mountainside waypoint and ignore the two drakes that are fighting. As you jump up using spiritsprings, you'll see this reward by the crags.

The fortress of Shadow Keep has even more Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Scadutree Fragments for you to obtain. Take note that some areas requires you to gain access via the flooded alternate path.

You obtain these after defeating the Golden Hippopotamus boss at the main entrance.

Upon entering the Specimen Storehouse, you have to use staircases and hanging contraptions to climb to higher floors. Eventually, you'll jump across a hanging specimen to reach a balcony that has a Miquella Cross, Site of Grace, and this Scadutree Fragment.

As you progress through the Specimen Storehouse facility, you'll gain access to the northwest tower, which is where Messmer resides. You can pick up this item before entering Messmer's chamber.

This requires you to enter Shadow Keep via the flooded path. You'll see an item floating on a statue's hand. Jump across the deep water to obtain it.

Once you've reached the loft area (via the alternate path), you'll come across a field with golden flowers. That's actually a boss arena. Instead of going straight ahead to encounter the boss, turn right to see a small room with a statue. This particular statue is fairly important, leading to Scaduview/Hinterlands.

Further north of Shadow Keep is a small region known as Scaduview. One particular spot here has a bunch of upgrade materials. To reach this place, you must go through the flooded alternate path, then ascend via the loft section of the fortress.

After defeating the boss in the aforementioned golden fields, you should keep going to the northwest. There's a towering gate at the edge of the hill. Beyond it is the Scadutree Chalice, which has five Scadutree Fragments scattered all around.

These are the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Scadutree Fragments in the northwest part of the map. You have to make your way from Shadow Keep to reach the Ancient Ruins of Rauh.

Upon exiting the tower/lift that takes you to the Ancient Ruins of Rauh, look for ledges that allow you to drop down to the lower section. There’s a hippopotamus enemy here that you can kill to obtain this item.

Proceed further into the ruined temple complex (i.e. the one with Manflies and Cultist Spirits). Eventually, you'll find yourself in the lower plateau. In the distance is another Miquella Cross.

Make your way to the bottommost section of the first temple complex, then use Torrent to jump high up via the spiritspring at the back of the chamber. The Jar Carrier Spirit is near where you land.

In the southwest temple complex (i.e. the one with Cultist Spirits that toss bouncing flame orbs), there’s an altar at the back. You can grab the item from there.

More Scadutree Fragments can be yours once you unlock the secret region known as the Abyssal Woods. Beware of Madness Mutants--they're invulnerable, and you have to sneak past them.

From the Recluses River Downsteam waypoint, follow the path back the way you came to spot a Gravebird shrine. Use the ledges to continue climbing down until you see the winding river to your right. Follow it past the flower enemies and pick up this item at the base of the waterfall.

Upon reaching the second to the last section of waterfalls/plateaus leading to the Abyssal Woods, you should spot a couple of hippopotamus enemies. Take them out to get your rewards.

This Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Scadutree Fragment is due north of the Abyssal Woods checkpoint.

To get these items, make your way southeast until you reach the Church Ruins waypoint. Check your surroundings to obtain this reward.

The final area of the DLC is called Enir-Ilim. It can be unlocked after you remove the seal in Belurat Tower of Shadow.

Once you get past the outdoor garden and grand staircase with annoying caster wizards, you'll be able to open this chamber. There's a Miquella Cross and a Scadutree Fragment inside.

Just past the Spiral Rise waypoint, you’ll have to climb up rooftops and ladders in the temple area. This item is inside one of the small rooms.

Found inside the Cleansing Chamber Anteroom Site of Grace, just before a rather hectic boss battle.
