Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree world map guide - All regions in the DLC
When talking about the world map in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, it's worth noting that the entire landmass, known as the Realm of Shadow, is just as big as Limgrave (and maybe some chunks of Caelid, too). The key difference is verticality. You might find yourself peeking at the edge of cliffs while looking for narrow passageways that lead to new areas.
Now, before we continue discussing all the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree regions, we encourage you to check out our other guides: How to start the DLC and 14 tips for the DLC. These are to help prepare you for the long road ahead. Of course, we've also charted a course so you know where to go first in Shadow of the Erdtree.
Full world map
Above, you can see the full world map for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. The Realm of Shadow consists of the following major regions, as well as a few that are part of questlines:
- Gravesite Plain
- Scadu Altus
- Cerulean Coast
- Charo's Hidden Grave
- Rauh Base
- Ancient Ruins of Rauh
- Finger Ruins
- Jagged Peak
- Shadow Keep
- Scaduview/Hinterlands
- Abyssal Woods
Gravesite Plain
When you first arrive at the Realm of Shadow in the DLC, you'll find yourself at the Gravesite Plain. As the name implies, this starting zone is akin to the golden fields of Elysium, with many graves dotting the rolling hills and countryside.
Of note are Belurat Tower Settlement, a major dungeon, and the Western Nameless Mausoleum. Likewise, you'll stumble upon a Miquella's Cross, a marker where you'll meet some NPCs.

Scadu Altus
Upon exiting another major dungeon called Castle Ensis, you'll arrive at Scadu Altus. The lay of the land is almost similar to that of Gravesite Plain, though there are numerous roads that lead to other areas, such as Shadow Keep and Rauh Base.
Rauh Base
While the Ancient Ruins of Rauh area is found high atop plateaus, Rauh Base is at ground level. You'll make your way across rivers and gullies below towering structures.

Cerulean Coast and Charo's Hidden Grave
In the southwestern part of the map, you'll find two regions: Cerulean Coast and Charo's Hidden Grave. The former has a landscape that's filled with ghostly blue flowers in full bloom. The latter, meanwhile, consists of plateaus and hills covered in blood-red flowers.

Finger Ruins
Few places in the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree world map are as mysterious as the Finger Ruins. If you thought the crawling hand enemies in the base game were creepy, then get ready for areas where finger-like pillars jut out from the ground, complete with creatures that are sure to terrify.

Jagged Peak
As you continue your journey, you might come across the broken cliffs of a mountain range. This is the Jagged Peak, the roost of the dragons. You then have to travel along narrow passes with lightning striking your path.

Shadow Keep
If you're following the main story path in your search for Miquella, then you'll likely end up in Shadow Keep. This massive castle is akin to Leyndell Royal Capital in the base game, with multiple corridors, ramparts, floors, and hidden paths.

Ancient Ruins of Rauh
Eventually, you'll come across a wide expanse that separates the central region from the northwestern portion. The latter is the Ancient Ruins of Rauh, which is just like a large overworld dungeon, with its winding paths and forgotten shrines.

Scaduview and Hinterlands
The northeastern portion of the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree world map is known as Scaduview or the Hinterlands. There are a few points of interest found in the golden fields at the base of the Scadutree (i.e. the Erdtree of the Shadow Realm).

Abyssal Woods
For a long while, you're going to wonder why there's a huge dark segment of the map covered in "fog of war." This is the Abyssal Woods, a spooky secret area complete with stealth sections against invulnerable enemies.
