Uhhh, buy them...?

I support Blizzard’s loot boxes during certain events and am ok with some probability that I will get 4-5 rare skins for hero’s I want, as well as filling out hero speech sound selection for use in game. I’m ok with paying $20 into that maybe once or twice a year during events since this game to me is still fun. I don’t just drop $20 during non-events.

I do not support this approach of charging $5 per color palette swap though. It’s ridiculous and I will be voting no by not making any purchases. Simple as that.

I wish you could buy like a teams set for like 20 bucks. Each for 5 is a bit high for my blood.

Why is no one talking about the fact the proceeds from this go directly to the teams?

Really people? This is seriously all your problem? Whining about having to pay for Chroma skins? Like did you all just realise how OW's business model works?

"Customization is part of the game and should be free in full price games." Are you really this stupid to say this? The Standard Edition is 40 USD also it was 50% off on its Anniversary.

"Taking advantage of their fanbase - milking them for everything they have." So you want ACTUAL CONTENTS (heroes, maps) to locked behind paywalls instead of paying for skins?

Do you want the game to succeed or want it to be like Diablo 3 is, to not recieve any meaningful contents anymore?

It's all your fault if you can't stick to 4-5 main heroes and buy skins for those and equip the random free ones you got so far for your less used heroes.

Say whatever you want man, but this company is taking advantage of the most vulnerable among their fan base and milking them for everything they have. Customization is part of the game and should be free in full price games. I wouldn't care to be honest, but "junkies" who defend and support such practices are messing up gaming for the rest of us.

1. They're just recolors ways to represent the team you rep.

2. Not buying? cool don't waste time bitching on a online forum its 2018 grow up

3. Don't think they are really in it for the money when you compare em to games like Star Wars and call of duty.

4. Consider this we get maps and new characters for free. we don't have to pay for those ever we bought the game, and at least 99% of the game is free not going to count these skins as more than 1% of the game considering its just recolors

5. no point in collecting them all because not everyone really plays all characters all the time. me i'm a defender main on console and a mercy main on pc wouldn't change any of my skins for just a recolor even though i support the gladiators

6. what do you care if you're not the whale unless secretly you are and that's why you're complaining.

7. again see point 3 everything in overwatch is cosmetic unlike star wars where loot boxes give you more characters, or call of duty where loot boxes can give you new weapons

8. if you are a whale bitching on here its not hard to break the habit at all. i used to be one back when Black ops 3 came out now i put my money to food, bills, new games, Etc.

9. for the people arguing with these people stop its a waste of time i wont be replying to anyone so don't waste time typing if you do you didn't read all the way thru. don't have time to read what cry babies have to say.

10. yea loot boxes are a bit of plague but again everything in ow is cosmetic. at least it isn't like shadow of mordor a Single player game that got lootboxes for whatever reason.

11. Consider this Blizzard is nowhere near hurting for money do your research they make lots of money off WOW subs and their other games combined.

12. and lastly if you says its gambling then you didn't read clearly you saw the word pay and were more triggered than a unreal feminist you pay you get points to buy the ones you want that's not gambling far from it actually. because you see gambling is i pay for a chance at getting them, but theres a chance i don't get them. If you disagree with me cool i really don't care. I've said all i have to say about this like i said i'm not going to reply to anyone just wanted to put in my two cents. because arguing with people online is just too much of a hassle since all anyone ever does in online arguments now is just repeat themselves till they win without using more points to prove their side anyways good bye have a nice day

I don’t get it , EA does this with Star Wars and everyone loses there minds but activsion/blizzard does it and it’s just awesome

eh. I get one for free, and I only want one, to support my city....or at least, the team with my city's name in it.

but anyway, don't really see the issue. Vanity items. You can basically get one of these costumes for cheaper than a drink (at a bar, not McDonald's). I wouldn't call that expensive considering I get to use it over and over, but the drink literally turns to piss within seconds.

People just see something they want and fuss that it's not being given away. The bigger issue is that these are lazy reskins. What if each team had its own unique costumes...that'd be nice and Blizzard can certainly afford that.

It's hard to believe people are even complaining about this. It's not like they are charging for a new hero or map. The argument that they shouldn't do this because "whales" out there can't resist is absolutely ridiculous. I'm pretty sure they aren't making a business strategy based on .0001% of people who have to collect every single skin. At the end of the day it is a business they are suppose to try and make money who cares. If it changed the game in any way that would be one thing but to complain about team skins ridiculous. If your into OWL then buy your team skin for your favorite character. If your like me and don't see the value then don't buy it. They game is the same either way.

as you can see, my avatar show the love i had for blizzard during 20+ years, but after activision corruption took it over, never will buy a blizzard game or gaming as service.

I love the game, the new maps and characters. I don't mind supporting by buying the skins I like.

why they looking like Halo characters?

Blizz is fucking whack.

But they are simple recolours? Something you can do in gimp in a few minutes.

Never understood why people pay for that crap, and never will.
