Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 is here, and it's bringing with it a very Grand Theft Auto-flavored assortment of new activities, weapons, locations, and more. Here we've rounded up all of our coverage of the new Fortnite season in one place, so you can find out everything in one go, whether you're waiting for downtime to end, for your download to finish up, or to get out of work or school so you hop on and drop in. From new weapons, map changes, the new Fortnite battle pass, and lots more you couldn't predict, here's everything new in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2.
Fortnite Battle Pass Chapter 6 Season 2
The season of lawless chaos needs a (police) lineup of anti-heroes. That's who we see in the new Fortnite battle pass. Once downtime ends, you can see all 100+ Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 battle pass rewards in one place, or check it out sooner to see more action shots of this year's included characters.
Also included in the pass is another crossover character, Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat fame--I'd wager 10,000 V-Bucks this means we'll see Scorpion come to the game later this season as a shop skin. A new Fast & Furious-inspired version of Midas, Outlaw Midas, is coming to the game as the midseason skin, too.
From left to right in the above image, this season's pass includes:
- Joss
- Sub-Zero
- Keisha Cross
- Outlaw Midas
- Cassidy Quinn
- Big Dill
- Valentina
- Fletcher Kane
Fortnite Map Chapter 6 Season 2
The new Fortnite map for Chapter 6 Season 2 replaces several major locations with cityscapes, giving this season a GTA style to it, which seems like an obvious inspiration, of course.

Fortnite new weapons in Chapter 6 Season 2
For some players, the best part of a new season are the new Fortnite weapons. Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 weapons are an arsenal built for urban warfare, high-stakes heists, and action-movie moments.
Use our guide on Fortnite's new weapons in Chapter 6 Season 2 to see what's in, what's out, and what's never been seen until now.
Moments - a new musical Fortnite feature
As much fun as I have with every new season of Fortnite, I think Moments are my personal pick for the coolest thing the game has done in a while--just because of how much I love the musical integration ramping up in this game.
Moments are new preset options for your locker. You can assign a Jam Track or Lobby Track to play when you drop out of the battle bus and coast toward the island, and then another that plays when you achieve a Victory Royale.
I'm going to be playing with this new toy a lot. How about you?
New bosses and enemy NPCs
Epic loves spreading a few bosses around the island each season, and the Lawless season is a perfect fit to do that again. This season's "Big Bad" is Fletcher Kane, the wolfman from the battle pass. According to the way he's dressed, he's Old Money, but to the motley crew of anti-heroes in the story, he's merely the target.
Epic hinted that Kane will show up when you're trying to perform heists, so be ready to take him on when you go blowing up vaults.
If defeated, Kane drops his Mythic Double Down Pistol and the Unstoppable Medallion, which grants improved sprint speed and enables a bash attack when you're sprinting.
Elsewhere, last season's enemy, Shogun X, is surprisingly still wandering the island. His new Super Shield Medallion will place a Shield Bubble Jr. whenever you use a self-healing item like a med kit or shield potion, giving you a nice buffer from ranged attacks when you need it most.
Here comes the money (and cryptocurrency)
This season, Fortnite is (jokingly) getting into crypto. With so much of the island obsessing over heists of stolen gold bars, Big Dill, the anthropomorphic pickle from the battle pass, is pushing his Dill Bits coin.
This new currency doesn't save between matches, unlike gold bars, so you'll want to spend 'em if you've got 'em before you're eliminated and some other fool runs off with your pickled pennies.
And just because we're living in such a time where this might be misconstrued, I do want to clarify that this is not a Fortnite NFT or crypto scheme. It's purely an in-universe story detail.
Elsewhere in the Fortnite economy (sort of), some waters are now infused with gold, and swimming in them temporarily increases the speed of your movement and pickaxe-swinging, plus it buffs pickaxe damage. You can also mine gold veins around the island for both bars and this Gold Rush effect.
Three Black Markets can be found around the map, and it's here where you can spend Dill Bits or your gold bars. Some high-end deals are available, like Mythic and Exotic weapons and items, so they're well worth stopping in if you can beat the rush.
Boons return with new styles
Last season introduced Boons, passive buffs you could find among loot. This season, they're back--with a makeover. You can buy them at the aforementioned Black Markets or find them in Rare Chests. You'll also keep them if you're eliminated but then rebooted in the same match.
The list of new Boons this season includes:
- Vulture Boon: Reveal where enemies are eliminated on the map for a short time.
- Gold Rush Boon: Opening or destroying Chests grants Gold Rush.
- Adrenaline Rush Boon: Gain the Slap effect (short-term unlimited Energy regen) upon mantling, hurdling, and wall jumping.
- Gold Ammo Boon: Gain ammo when picking up Bars.
- Greed Boon: Find extra Bars from eliminations and opening containers.
When does Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 end?
The lawlessness comes to an end on May 2, so you can expect the summer-themed Season 3 to begin likely the following morning, Saturday, May 3. It's worth noting that this means a new season drops just before Star Wars Day, which could mean a Star Wars-heavy season is ahead--or at least some more limited-time festivities.
