All Hallow's Eve is one of the three new story quests added with the next-generation update in Fallout 4. The quest takes place inside the New England Technocrat Society building, which is located within the Harbormaster Hotel on the eastern side of downtown Boston. The quest has a Halloween theme to it, with one of the rewards for completing the quest being 30+ new settlement decorations that center around the spooky holiday.
While the entire quest takes place within a single building, it can be a little complicated to complete. There's some poisonous gas to dispel, ghouls to defeat, and a password to find that requires some problem-solving. You can see all of the steps to complete All Hallow's Eve in Fallout in the guide below.
Enter the New England Technocrat Society
The quest is started by visiting the Harbormaster Hotel, located right near the Boston harbor in the eastern part of downtown. When you first arrive at the hotel, a few raiders are stationed out front, so you'll have to deal with them before entering the hotel.
Once the raiders are dispatched, enter the Harbormaster Hotel. Inside, you can go through another door leading to the New England Technocrat Society. The first room you see has a mysterious vibe, featuring lit jack-o-lanterns, orange lights, and other Halloween decorations. Go through the double doors in the room to get your next objective for All Hallow's Eve.
Defeat the Ghoul Ambush
When you go through the double doors, you'll find yourself in an auditorium of sorts. Chairs face a stage with glowing lights, and there's also a green mist throughout the air. That green mist is actually poisonous gas, as it turns out, which has been permanently turned on by a member of the New England Technocrat Society. As you're trying to fend off the gas from killing you, over a dozen ghouls spawn in the room, and they'll attack you in waves.
Your vision is going to be blurred on account of the gas, so try and keep moving throughout the room to avoid being dogpiled by the ghouls. Eventually, after you've dealt with several ghouls, a legendary enemy by the name of Mr. Wendt spawns, who was responsible for the gas being turned on in the first place. Mr. Wendt is a glowing ghoul with a ton of health and mutates if you don't kill him quickly enough. I used my Tesla Cannon, which I also got from the next-gen update, and managed to take the legendary ghoul down after a minute or two.
After Mr. Wendt and the other ghouls are gone, go through another set of doors at the back of the room and head down a hallway. Here, you'll find a locked door requiring a four-digit password.
Finding the Password
When you go to the door that requires the password, you can look down at a dead body and pick up "Lana's Notes." These notes indicate that the password has something to do with the four numbered doors that you passed on your way through the hallway. The first room has specimen jars, the second has skulls, the third has teddy bears, and the fourth has jack-o-lanterns. The quantities of these objects give you the password you're looking for. If you want to try and solve the puzzle for yourself, you certainly can.
However, for those looking for the password, here's the four-digit combination that opens the door:
- 4, 3, 4, 6
Once you enter the password, the door swings open and you're finally ready to complete All Hallow's Eve.
Disabling the Gas
Once you're inside the final room, head over to the terminal and press the "Disable AI Control System" option. This makes Mr. Wendt a little upset, as he relays in a terminal message, but this completely disables the gas from flowing in the auditorium. You can also go back into the terminal and press the "Unlock Safe" option, which opens a wall safe to the right of the terminal. Inside the safe are some ammo and weapons.
Unlocking the Halloween Themed Items
Your final step before completing All Hallow's Eve is to pick up the magazine issue of "Picket Fences Halloween Special" on the machine to the left of the terminal. This unlocks the 30+ settlement workshop items, including decorations such as ghosts, witches, spooky trees, and more.
Once the magazine has been acquired, you're free to leave the New England Technocrat Society. All Hallow's Eve has been completed, and you're now free to take on one of the other new quests in Fallout 4, such as Echoes of the Past.
