Fallout 76 - Everything New In The Skyline Valley Update

Fallout 76's 17th season is here and with it comes a slew of new content for fans to sink their teeth into. The 17th season is headlined by the Skyline Valley DLC, which is the game's first-ever map expansion. You can explore an entirely new region to the south of Appalachia and complete quests, events, and challenge fresh enemies along with a World Boss.

The primary highlight of the new Fallout 76 update is, of course, the Skyline Valley region on the map. Found at the very southern part of Appalachia, this region is in the middle of Shenandoah National Park. When you approach the region, you won't find too much amiss; as you continue exploring, though, you'll discover that nothing is right about Skyline Valley. There's a dark red glow to the region, complete with a swirling vortex storm in the clouds above and mysterious stars in the sky.

While the region isn't much bigger than other large points of interest in Appalachia, there's a ton to see and do in Skyline Valley. You can be at any level to enter the region, but you'll find level 20-50 enemies all over the place, so make sure you're prepared.

During your time in Skyline Valley, you can complete an all-new questline that uncovers the true location of Vault 63. This questline features a dozen new quests and takes you all over the new region of the map. You get to enter Vault 63, meet the people living there, and discover the truth about why Skyline Valley is behaving so strangely.

To start the Vault 63 questline, you must be level 25 to start the new quests in Skyline Valley. If you're under level 25, you can still explore the region, but the quest won't be unlocked for you yet. If you're over level 25, you'll get a new quest automatically added to your quest log in Fallout 76 after downloading the Skyline Valley update. According to the developers, the Vault 63 questline should take roughly 20 hours to complete.

Skyline Valley is chock-full of a new enemy in Fallout 76 called the "Lost." These enemies are "electrically-super charged" ghouls who are extremely hostile toward anyone approaching them and are quite tanky, so tread lightly. The Lost have several different enemy types, including Engineers, Welders, and more. You can find them just about everywhere in the new region, but they are most prevalent at Skyline Valley's major points of interest.

The Lost play an integral role in the Vault 63 questline and the Skyline Valley experience. One of the main storylines in the Vault 63 questline is to figure out why the Lost have gone so mad.

When you're not busy fighting the Lost or completing Vault 63 quests, you can participate in a new Public Event or fight the new World Boss in Skyline Valley. The Public Event sees you protecting storm chasers who are attempting to capture worthy pictures of the region while the Region Boss can only be defeated with the combined might of several brave souls. You can check your map to see when the Public Events are happening and when the Region Boss is active.

The final piece of new content in the Skyline Valley update is the fresh seasonal rewards. The season is based around summer camp and you're joining the Pioneer Scouts for the occasion. As a result, there are dozens of new cosmetics available in the Season Pass and plenty of new content to purchase in the Atomic Shop. You can also earn seasonal rewards through the new Daily and Weekly Challenges in Fallout 76.

Fallout 1st members get the Season Pass for free while everyone else has to purchase the Season Pass to access all of the new content. Some of the rewards available on the Season Pass include:
