Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 horse items and horse armor guide
If you're curious as to the locations of these creatures, you can head over to our horse mounts guide. As for this particular article, we discuss all sorts of gear pieces, as well as how your mounts act as your pack mules.
How to move items to your horse's inventory
To move items to your horse's saddlebags, simply open Henry's inventory and mouse over your stuff. Then, press the "X" key/button to instantly transfer the item to the horse tab in the menu--i.e. the rightmost tab when looking at the icons.
This is a neat way to manage carry weight/encumbrance so you don't have to lug around a ton of loot all the time. However, do take note that your mount has a carrying capacity, which we discuss in detail in a while.
Where to buy gear pieces for your horse
Sometimes, you might obtain gear pieces for your horse through certain quests or item chests. However, the most reliable way to get equipment is to look for Saddler vendors. These NPCs sell all sorts of bridles, horseshoes, caparisons, and saddles, though these items tend to be very expensive, too.
Other merchant types, such as Grooms, Tailors, and Traders might have mount-specific items for sale, but Saddlers have more wares in their stock.
Types of equipment for your horse
You can equip your horse with four kinds of items to boost its stats. Simply check the horse tab in your inventory to have it wear gear pieces:
- Saddle: Primarily increases carrying capacity.
- Bridle: Increases stamina.
- Horseshoes: Improves speed.
- Caparison: Increases courage (i.e. you won't get thrown off if the horse bolts away when enemies are nearby); slightly increases carrying capacity while decreasing speed.
