Even in times of war, love can still bloom in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Okay, maybe it's not really love in most cases, but just good ol' fashioned boinking in the Middle Ages. It's a time when tinder was used to start fires, not to find your next flame. Anyway, here's our Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 romance guide, which discusses all the characters you can flirt and sleep with. Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains spoilers.
How to romance characters in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - Romance guide
You can romance several characters in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This is usually done once you've met certain requirements and the dialogue option with the heart icon becomes available.
In most cases, a love scene will only cause the screen to fade to black. You'll hear Henry panting louder than Mutt. However, there are a few instances when there's--gasp!--actual nudity. Be sure to avert your eyes if you've never been on the internet before. Wait, never mind...
Note: Sleeping with NPCs nets you the "Time Well Spent" buff. It temporarily grants +1 to Henry's Strength, Agility, and Vitality. Not bad, Henry, not bad at all. Admittedly, we'd probably get -1 to these stats in the real world.
Bathhouse ladies
Some settlements in the game might have a bathhouse. These establishments have a certain function--i.e. you can ask people to wash your clothes to improve the effects of Charisma. And, of course, you can also boink around with the maids. This is done by talking to the proprietor and selecting this reply: "I'd like the full service and some pleasant company."
Doubravka
You'll meet Doubravka's mother as part of the Wedding Crashers main quest. During the ceremony, you'll see her standing next to the courtyard entrance. She'll then ask you to dance with her daughter, who hasn't found a partner because she has two left feet.
Choose the following responses when talking to Doubravka:
- Impression: "Don't worry about the people."
- Persuasion: "You dance like an elf."
Then, during the next segment/portion, Doubravka will say that she has a secret to show you. Reply with: "I see. Let's go then."
Klara
You meet Klara, a compassionate healer, as part of a main quest called Back in the Saddle. At Nebakov Fortress, you're told to chat with various folks, though Henry ends up becoming suspicious.
As for the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 romance scenes involving Klara, you need to gather herbs with her at a nearby glade. Then, once she asks you to follow her deeper into the forest, you must not tell her about your suspicions, as this might cause her to run away. If you play it cool, you can "rizz" her up when she asks you to solve a riddle. This leads to the first love scene.
A second love scene also occurs later during a quest called Finger of God. In it, you have to treat several wounded soldiers. Once you're done, Klara will join you as you go to bed for the night. We discuss all these details in our Klara romance guide.
Black Bartoush
Black Bartoush is a weapon skills trainer. He, along with Widow Johanka, are Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 romance options during a specific segment of the campaign. During a main quest called For Victory, you have to mingle with other folks that are feasting in Trosky Castle. Talk to Bartoush and say:
- Impression: "I reckon I know what you're getting at."
- Romance: "Shall we spend the rest of the evening alone."
Widow Johanka
Alternatively, you could romance Johanka during the For Victory quest. She's sitting with the other nobles, but you should be able to chat with her. We chose the following responses:
- Scholarship: "I'll be glad to tell you what happened."
- Persuasion: "It was a lovely day for bathing."
- "They almost killed us."
If you passed all the skill checks, Johanka will ask if the two of you could step outside. You can then reply with: "I think I can convince you."
Lousy Mary
Lousy Mary is one of the bathhouse attendants in the city of Kuttenberg. The difference between her and the other women is that she's part of a main quest called Into the Underworld, where you have to look for a fellah named Goatskin.
Outside of this instance, Lousy Mary has a dialogue option where you can choose to have a drink with her. This leads to a brief tryst where you won't need to ask for additional services.
Rosa Ruthard
Another Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 romance option is Rosa Ruthard, a key supporting character in the campaign. You first meet her during Via Argentum, followed by Taking French Leave. The latter quest is where she tells you about a hidden tunnel that leads to Maleshov, though she also asks you to find a special book.
You'll have more opportunities to get to know Rosa as you progress further into the campaign. Much later, during a main quest called Oratores, you'll finally have a chance to complete Rosa's arc after defeating the looters. You can learn about all these details in our Rosa romance guide.
Katherine
Katherine proves that she's far from being the damsel in distress that you thought she was at the start of the game. Initially secretive towards Henry, you eventually gain opportunities to flirt with her throughout the course of the campaign.
Likewise, we recommend tackling two important side quests that involve her: The Fifth Commandment and The Stalker. The former has you solving a murder spree in Kuttenberg. The latter, meanwhile, actually takes place while you're tackling a main quest called The Lion's Den.
Should you remain on Katherine's good graces until the later stages of the campaign--i.e. once Henry and co. are besieged in a castle--you'll be able to initiate a romance scene. You can check all the info in our Katherine romance guide.
Hans Capon
The Henry and Hans bromance might get the letter "B" removed for good, once you decide that the two should finally hook up. However, this scenario can take a while, since it also requires you to choose several romance (i.e. heart icon) responses during several quests. These include:
- Back in the Saddle - This occurs immediately after completing For Whom the Bell Tolls.
- Taking French Leave - Just as you rescue Hans and Brabant.
- The Italian Job - There are two dialogue options here.
- Hunger and Despair - Much later once the heroes are besieged, the two best buds can finally confess their true feelings for each other.
For more details, you can head over to our Hans Capon romance guide. In any case, that does it for our Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 romance guide. We'll keep you posted in case we discover other love interests, so stay tuned.
