Meet and beat the Bakers
The Bakers in Resident Evil 7 have a funny way of welcoming you to their family. When they’re not trying to dissect you with chainsaws, they’re shoving you into pits and tormenting you with spiders and flies. You can respond in kind with shotgun blasts and salvos of flame rounds, anything to escape the family’s plantation of horrors. Our tips will help you pinpoint The Bakers’ weaknesses and make the most of your limited resources.
Note: This guide features spoilers.
Mia Winters in the attic
Break the boxes to give yourself more room to dodge and elude Mia during the fight. Explore the adjacent room for extra ammo before you climb the ladder and trigger the fight. Mia wields a chainsaw, so it’s best to keep your distance and use the spaciousness of the attic to your advantage. This will buy you time to heal, reload, and line up headshots. If you run out of ammo, knife slashes will eventually finish her off. Bait her into chainsaw lunge by sidestepping. This will give you time to hit her with a two-handed knife stab by hitting both triggers simultaneously.
Jack Baker in the basement
Keep your distance and use either your handgun or shotgun to wear Jack down. Ignore the hanging bodies for now. When a large mutated bulge emerges from his shoulder, follow him to the chainsaws nearby. As he’s grabbing the scissor chainsaw, grab the other chainsaw.
Use the hanging bodies to stun him, which lets you deal at least one attack with your chainsaw. The key is to use both triggers to deal the power attack. Be sure to target the mutated bulge every time it appears.
Marguerite in the greenhouse
The battle is triggered when you climb the interior stairs, so explore the nearby areas before heading up. This house is loaded with items so use a psychostimulant during the fight. Make note of holes in the walls and floors; these are where Marguerite attempts to sneak up on you and escape afterwards. Use the entire greenhouse to flank her, as well as make brief retreats when needed.
Taking the fight to Marguerite when she escapes has a couple advantages: You can stop her from sneaking up on you, and you can destroy the hives that she creates. When you do find her, focus fire on her crotch area. Prioritize using the flamethrower, then switch to the handgun if she’s still alive after you’ve expended flamethrower ammo.
Monster in the barn
The fight begins when you’ve installed the battery in the generator. Don’t stand in front of the elevator when it opens since the monster will greet you with a stream of vomit, which is its ranged attack. Never face it directly as its vomit shoots straight (and occasionally in a wide arc).
At the start of the fight, run up the stairs next to the elevator. Use your ranged weapon of choice to attack the monster as it follows you up the stairs. Continue to use ranged weapons while keeping your distance and use the boss’ slow movements to your advantage by alternating between both levels of the barn.
Jack Baker at the pier
If you’ve saved up grenade launcher rounds, this is the time to use all of them. Your targets are Jack’s many eyes. Flame rounds have a wide area of effect that can potentially affect multiple eyes with a single round. When you’re out of grenade launcher rounds, switch to either the handgun or the shotgun depending on your distance. The eyes are all over Jack, so position yourself one floor above or below him to find the more elusive targets. Being on a different floor also has a defensive advantage since he has a powerful sweep attack. If you’re one floor below Jack, be mindful when you’re directly under him as he might attack you from above.
Two giant monsters in the mine
This is similar to the boss fight in the barn except there are two monsters. Avoid attacking them head on since they also attack with vomit. Use the column in the middle of the area to create distance if you need to heal or reload. It’s best to focus fire on one monster until it goes down since one is easier to deal with than two.
Mine escape
While this is not technically a boss fight, this section is more challenging than the final boss. Prioritize running and avoiding as many enemies as possible. This is a good opportunity to use your remaining remote bombs for clearing the path of monster that get in your way. bombs. Alternating between running and bombing hard-to-avoid enemies will get you to the exit.
Final boss
Focus gunfire on the boss’ face during both phases of the fight. The damage dealt to you is insignificant enough that you shouldn’t concern yourself with dodging or blocking. Pay attention to your wrist communicator to wrap up the fight.
