Top 20 Best-Selling Games For March 2024 In The US

Circana, the research firm formerly known as NPD, has released its monthly sales report that covers US games sales in the month of March. In addition to revealing the best-selling games of that month, it also covers key indicators of the overall health of the industry, such as total video game content sales, hardware sales, and more.

In regards to individual game sales, Dragon's Dogma 2 was the best-selling game in the US, followed by February's top performer, Helldivers 2. MLB: The Show 24 comes in at the third spot, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 just behind, and Rise of the Ronin rounding out the top five.

In terms of dollar sales, Dragon's Dogma 2 sold more than 11 times that of the first game in its debut month, and it's currently the third-best-selling game of 2024 overall so far. It has also succeeded the lifetime dollar sales of both the original Dragon's Dogma and the original's expanded re-release Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen combined.

The report also notes that Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth remains the fourth-best-selling game of 2024 so far, despite the RPG dropping out of the top five as the seventh-best-selling game of March. The best-selling premium game of 2024 is Helldivers 2, which ranks seventh in lifetime US dollar sales for Sony-published titles after being out for just two months.

Total games spending increased by 4% year-over-year, led by a 9% increase in both video game content sales and accessory sales (which are separate statistics). However, video game hardware sales continued their decline with a drop of 32%. Monopoly Go remains the best-selling mobile game of the moment, and it has a "commanding lead" over its nearest competitor, Royal Match.
