After a successful debut last year, the second Triple-I Initiative returned this week for another dive into dozens of upcoming indie games. Like last year, the show was full of world premieres for several games, updates for popular titles, and exclusive gameplay reveals. In case you missed it, we've rounded up everything below, with some of the highlights being the action-packed shooter Void/Breaker, a nightmarish spin on life-simulators in Neverway, and the enchanting adventure Duskfade.
Beyond that, several developers also revealed new game updates, narrowed down their release-date windows, and teased new features for in-development games. If you'd like to watch everything, you can click this link for the entire show of back-to-back trailers.
Katana Zero
Katana Zero fans can dive into free DLC for the game soon, as developer Askiisoft said that it's still hard at work putting this new content together. When it does release, you can continue Zero's journey right where it left off and explore his murky past. It'll also include new characters, levels, and gameplay.
Void/Breaker
The world-premiere trailer for Void/Breaker showed off an energetic first-person shooter full of bullets, bombs, and bots. As a subject in a program run by a hostile AI, you'll have to run and gun your way through hordes of killer robots in this roguelike adventure. Developer Stubby Games says you can also expect destructible environments and the ability to craft infinite variants of your weapons.
Frostrail
We got a first look at Frostrail during the Triple-I Initiative, and the game looks like a spooky fusion of Snowpiercer and Rust. A co-op game for up to four players, you'll need to work together to survive a frigid apocalypse and keep the Eden Engine--a train that serves as your home base and mobile fortress--moving before you find yourself swarmed by monsters lurking in the dark.
The Alters
You won't have to wait too long to play The Alters, as the game has a release date of June 13 locked in. Set on a hostile alien planet where protagonist Jan Dolski is just three days away from facing a sunrise that'll turn him into ashes, The Alters will have players create alternate versions of Jan to help him survive.
Neverway
It might look like a lo-fi Stardew Valley, but Neverway is actually a life-sim powered by nightmare fuel. The game puts you in the boots of Fiona, who quits her dead-end job so she can start a new life on a farm, but it's not long before she becomes the immortal herald of a dead god and is forced to fight various horrors to pay off her debt. This is the debut game from Coldblood Inc.--a new studio co-founded by Celeste and TowerFall pixel-artist Pedro Medeiros--and it features an original soundtrack by Disasterpeace.
Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core
A roguelite spin-off of Deep Rock Galactic, Rogue Core features several hallmarks of the genre but with a co-op spin. A closed alpha will be held soon before the game's early-access launch starts on Steam.
Outbound
The closed alpha for the cozy survival game Outbound will officially kick off on April 14 and you can sign up to take part in it right now. If you haven't heard of it, Outbound is an open-world exploration game where you start with an empty camper van and steadily transform it into a dream home during your travels.
Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor
Deep Rock Galactic's Vampire Survivors-like spin-off has been in early access for more than a year, but it'll be getting a full release on September 17. The full game will launch with new missions, biomes, features, and much more.
Speedrunners 2: King of Speed
Speedrunners is making its return in 2025, as this brand-new sequel will see players once again compete in cutthroat platforming races. The game will allow for up to eight players to race each other in what developer Fair Play Labs calls "the Mario Kart of 2D platformers," and the original gameplay formula has been enhanced with new moves and power-ups.
Rematch
If EA or Konami's soccer games have left you feeling jaded, you can give Rematch a go when it launches on June 19. The game features fast-paced 5v5 soccer matches from a third-person perspective, has skill-based gameplay, and it's being developed by Sifu studio Sloclap. If that sounds interesting to you, a closed-beta weekend will kick off right after the Triple-I Initiative.
Duskfade
One of the best-looking games of the show, Duskfade puts you in the boots of Zirian as he travels across a colorful fantasy land to restore time itself in a world of eternal night. The "clockpunk" setting looks great and the game describes itself as a love letter to the action-platformers from yesteryear.
Ikuma: The Frozen Compass
Haven Park and Lost Ember developer Mooneye Studios revealed its next game during the Triple-I Initiative: an adventure game called Ikuma: The Frozen Compass. Set in 1864, the game takes place on an uncharted Arctic island where cabin boy Sam and his loyal pooch Ellie find themselves stranded. Together, the two will have to work together to survive the elements and find their way home. The game will feature solo and co-op modes, and it's scheduled to release in 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Into the Fire
After exploring a mysterious alien planet in The Invincible, Starward Industries' next game is Into the Fire, an extraction game where you're facing off against the elements and natural disasters. Players will need fight against natural and mythical dangers on Dante's Archipelago, using their wits and retro-futuristic gear to combat disasters and save as many lives as possible. Into the Fire will be landing first on Steam Early Access later this year.
Tears of Metal
It's a crying shame that the classic film Braveheart hasn't been adapted into a Dynasty Warriors-like game yet, but Tears of Metal might just be the next best thing. A new--and very stylish--trailer for the hack-and-slash roguelike revealed more gameplay, as well as confirmation that a public beta for the game is now available to play and ends on April 17.
Vampire Survivors
Billed as the biggest free update so far to Vampire Survivors, Emerald Diorama is inspired by Square Enix's SaGa series. It adds dozens of new attacks, more than 16 new characters and skins, and a new stage that has seven biomes to explore. It's available right now for the PC, console, and mobile versions of Vampire Survivors.
Endless Legend 2

CloverPit
Described as the "demonic lovechild of Balatro and Buckshot Roulette," CloverPit is a roguelite where players must pay off their debt at the end of each round or fall to their doom. All you have is a slot machine and an ATM in your rusty cell when you start out, but by cleverly manipulating the one-armed bandit, you can turn the odds in your favor and pay off your captor if you find yourself on a hot streak. The game is coming to PC via Steam later this year, and a free demo is now available to try out.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Enshrouded
Co-op survival game Enshrouded also has a new update on the way in May. Thralls of Twilight will pit players against some nasty foes, but they'll be able to discover new powers to help them overcome these threats.
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era
After several long years without an entry in the series, Heroes of Might and Magic made its return during the Triple-I Initiative. Sticking to its turn-based strategy roots, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era takes place on the continent of Jadame, a location that has been mentioned in older games but has never been explored. Dark forces are on the march, and players will have to make unusual alliances if they want to stop this growing threat. The game will be coming to Steam Early Access in Summer 2025.

A mix of hack-and-slash action, roguelite elements, and brutal music, Morbid Metal is coming to Steam Early Access in the summer. The game will feature iconic vehicles from the '60s to '80s, and you'll be able to assemble a convoy of friends for your 4x4 trek.
No, I'm Not A Human
No, I'm Not a Human looks like a fascinating and unnerving horror game to look forward to in Fall 2025. As one of the few humans left alive in a devastated world, you'll need to watch out for creatures disguising themselves as humans who are attempting to infiltrate your stronghold. People will be knocking on your door looking for safety, but you'll also need to figure out who are the real humans and who are the pretenders looking to take you out.

As a weary photographer who finds himself caught outside of reality, you'll use an old camera to explore an ethereal realm and strange mysteries on your way back home.

A demo for the cheerful base-building game will be out in June.
