On Sunday, November 20, Raw and Smackdown will face off at Survivor Series to see which show is the dominant brand. This is the first official crossover PPV since both shows became separate entities back in July, since Battleground stuck to the pre-brand PPV format. This PPV will showcase the best-of-the-best for both shows, and we have a few predictions as to who will win each match.
The Brian Kendrick (c) vs. Kalisto
(For the Cruiserweight Championship)
Only two belts are up for grabs during Survivor Series: the Intercontinental Championship and the Cruiserweight Championship. There is no rivalry between Kendrick and Kalisto currently, and there is a lot at stake for the winner. If Kalisto wins, the belt and the Cruiserweight Division heads to Smackdown.
Everything about this match makes is seem like Smackdown is going to get the belt and the Cruiserweight Division. However, Kendrick has been a good face for the division, and Kalisto has been injured for a few months. It just doesn't makes sense to have Kalisto win, in order to have success for the cruiserweights.
Our Prediction: The Brian Kendrick wins dirty.
The Miz (c) vs. Sami Zayn
(For the Intercontinental Championship)
Originally, Sami Zayn was going to take on Dolph Ziggler, up until the 11/15 episode of Smackdown when The Miz reclaimed his Intercontinental Championship. Now, Zayn and The Miz will battle it out. It's a battle of the fan-favorite mid-carders from the two brands (If you don't love The Miz, you're crazy). Much like the Kendrick/Kalisto fight, there is not much of a story behind this bout.
The Intercontinental Championship should not go to Raw. They already have the United States Championship and the Cruiserweight Championship. If their plan is to do a switcharoo--between shows--with the Cruiserweight and IC titles, that's silly. Having two middle card belts on Raw, open to anyone, doesn't make sense. When it was Ziggler/Zayn, we gave the win to Ziggler, but now that it's Miz/Zayn, we're confident Miz will retain the title. Why would they switch the title holder of the IC belt twice in a week?
Our Prediction: The Miz wins.
Raw vs. Smackdown: Tag Team Division
(Survivor Series Match)
Team Raw: The New Day, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, Sheamus & Cesaro, Enzo Amore & Big Cass, and The Shining Stars
Team Smackdown: Heath Slater & Rhyno, The Hype Bros, American Alpha, The Usos, and Breezango
Both Smackdown and Raw have put together five of their best tag teams and and are set to put them in the ring for a 10-on-10 traditional Survivor Series match. It's been interesting to watch this all come together on both shows, but we have a feeling this is going to be a bit chaotic, as 20 wrestlers will surround the ring, and most likely Xavier Woods will be at ringside.
It's hard to tell which way this is going to go, but since we're such big fans of the New Day, even though we tend to say they're going to lose at PPVs, we're giving it to Team Raw. Smackdown has the better tag team roster, overall, and the inclusion of The Shining Stars on Raw's team is a head-scratcher, but for some reason, we're just leaning towards the Monday night show to come out on top. Xavier Woods will probably win it for his team due to some outside shenanigans.
Our Prediction: Team Raw due to Xavier Woods interference/shenanigans.
Raw vs. Smackdown: Women's Division
(Survivor Series Match)
Team Raw: Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Bayley, and Alicia Fox
Team Smackdown: Carmella, Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella, Alexa Bliss, and Naomi
Both brands have put together a traditional Survivor Series match featuring their top female talent. This year, the Women's Division has blown up, and it's putting on some amazing, memorable matches. Now, a mixture of old and new talent is fighting to be the dominant brand.
Figuring out which team is going to take this is tough. Smackdown's best stars are Naomi, Nikki Bella, and Becky Lynch. Raw's best stars are Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Bayley. This is going to make for one incredible fight, but considering that three of the Four Horsewomen are on Raw, we want to give them the slight edge. However, seeing how this PPV is set up, we're actually predicting Smackdown wins, so during the final traditional Survivor Series match, each brand has a win, and there is more at stake.
Our Prediction: Team Smackdown wins clean.
Raw vs. Smackdown: Men's Division
(Survivor Series Match)
Team Raw: Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, and Kevin Owens
Team Smackdown: AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Shane McMahon, Bray Wyatt, and Randy Orton (w/ James Ellsworth as Team Smackdown's mascot)
Both Team Raw and Team Smackdown got into a brawl on this past week's episode of Raw. Both brands are putting in their top talent to prove which show is dominant, even Shane McMahon is getting involved in the match.
It seems like Raw's team is just a bit more stacked than Smackdown's; however, Smackdown has always been the underdog, and this is the first year where the show came into its own. It stopped being a Raw recap show, and it got its own identity. For that reason alone, we're giving the win to Smackdown, after James Ellsworth interferes, getting revenge on Strowman, who destroyed him on Raw months ago.
Our Prediction: Team Smackdown after Ellsworth hits Strowman with "No Chin Music."
Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg
Two unstoppable forces in wrestling will face each other for the second time in their careers. They first squared-off at Wrestlemania XX, where Goldberg beat Lesnar, who was a rookie at the time. Both stars are legends with a lot of accomplishments under their belt. Goldberg had a legendary winning-streak in WCW, and Lesnar is the one person to beat Undertaker at Wrestlemania.
While it's most likely going to be a back-and-forth match between the two, we really want to see a match like Cena/Lesnar, where Lesnar just throws Goldberg around the ring for 20 minutes. That probably won't happen, but we do see this match going to Lesnar because Goldberg hasn't been wrestling for years, and WWE has built Lesnar up as an unbeatable monster.
Our Prediction: Lesnar destroys Goldberg.
