   During gameplay, pause the game, then hold A. Hold B for a brief moment twice, then release A and hold B. Now hold A for brief moments twice, then release B.

   At the title screen, hold A. Hold B for a brief moment twice, then release A and hold B. Now hold A for brief moments twice, then release B, then press Start.

   Use the second option at the main menu to access the password entry menu. These passwords will take you to the named difficulty level and stage. (Note that the game actually intends you to play them in the order of Easy, Normal, Hard, and My God - however, GameFAQs automatically alphabetizes the lists, so they will seem out of order.)
