Old Friends
At Giant Island, in the northern area of the map above the town Gate (Press select for the map), you'll find Bo and Karn from the first Breath of Fire game. They don't do anything though, but you can talk to them. You'll need the whale or the bird to get there though.

Infinite Healing Items and/or Gold Coins
After you have the easternmost carpenter from Capitan build the house for the old lady that unites shamans, go to the northeastern house where the carpenter cooks. Talk to him and he'll tell you he can cook anything. In the item selection screen use 2 or 3 [Herbs] to make a [HelpBL]. Four [Herbs] will make an [Extract] (which isn't groupable).
Now to make it infinite, next use either four [HelpBL's] or two [Extracts] to make a [LifePL].
So that would mean that you used 8 [Herbs] for a total of 64Ƶ to make a single LifePL for a total of 250Ƶ (2250Ƶ in a full group of 9), which makes a profit. So sell your [LifePL's] to make a lot of money, buy more herbs and do it again!
Note that the results occasionally may have one or more servings to use to your advantage.Contributed by: blackflag13

Defeating "Spirit" Enemies
The enemies inside Bando are quite difficult to defeat because they are "spirit" type, along with other enemies throughout the game. These enemies only take half-damage from any attack and spell, but will take double-damage from "holy" weapons. That is a 4x difference in damage!! The most readily available of these include the SilverDR, SoleSD, ElmoreSD & WonderRP.

Quick Coinage
To pull off this trick, 4 conditions must be met
* At Capitan you will need to recruit the Carpenter who can cook things (You will do this before heading off on the boat)
* Hanz must be in house 5 (Found in HomeTown in the house next to Ryu's)
* Daiye must be in house 6 (Found in Wyndia's Inn on the 2nd Floor)
* You need 3,300 coins as seed money
When you fulfilled all these conditions head to Hanz' shop and buy 3 Medicates (1,000 a pop and then to Daiye to buy a Tuna, cook those 4 items at a ratio of 3 Medicate:1 Tuna, you will wind up with 2 GoldBars which net you 12k from 3,300 Coins; almost 4 times the initial investment made! Reload if you fail that initial attempt at cooking. Repeat when necessary, the downside is that the Medicates and Gold Bars as well as the Tuna (You can carry up to 9 per slot) will take up inventory space, easier to drop all your items off at a bank before doing this to optimize your ability to cook items and rake in a lot of money this way.
You can carry up to 48 items in your inventory, so purchase 45 Medicate which 15 Tuna, this will net you 30 Gold Bars which can give 180,000 Coins at most, more than enough to help get supplies and weapons at most points in the game.Contributed by: Ryan914

Obtaining the LifeBr
The LifeBr (Life Brace) is a well-hidden item that grants a character immunity to the infamous "Death" spell along with regeneration. To find it, after your battle with Barubary in the dark room of the final dungeon, have Katt smack the wall on the right. Travel through the passage, and have Sten grab onto the ledge. Open the chest to find the Life Brace. If you fought Barubary alone, he will give you a hint as to finding this item.
