With a character-driven story and a focus on enhancing its gameplay on nearly every level, The Final Shape feels like what Destiny 2 has been trying to be all along.
Lightfall's new gameplay mechanics and evolved systems position it as a turning point for Destiny 2, but the expansion is let down by the poor narrative of its campaign.
Bungie continues to improve its shooter MMO with the best story campaign it has yet produced and a whole lot of great additional content to keep players engaged.
With Beyond Light, Destiny 2 can still get cyclical and repetitious, but its new abilities and improved storytelling make it feel much more alive.
Shadowkeep's return to the moon provides the usual quick story and new activities, but it's the many under-the-hood changes that really shine.
Destiny 2's Forsaken expansion is dense and rewarding, though it does require a bit of patience.
Destiny 2: Warmind is geared toward high-level players, but it offers little in the way of motivation while you grind levels to get to the endgame.
Destiny 2's first DLC expansion, Curse of Osiris, adds lots of filler and little substance.
Destiny 2 is very similar to the original, but a variety of tweaks and additions make it a far better experience.
