  5. Obtain the Gospel Ring

    To obtain the Gospel Ring, which when equipped will eliminate random battles, you must fight all 295 monsters in the game. After that go to the battle records and go to the enemies defeated section and you will get the Gospel Ring.

  1. Unlimited Gold

    First available after you get the alchemy pot. Step One: Buy as many medicinal herbs as you can (at the earliest point in the game to do this I was able to buy around 140 for 1,120 gold). Step Two: Go to the alchemy pot and make as many (70+) Strong Medicine (If you don't have the recipe it's medicinal herb + medicinal herb). Step Three: Sell the Strong Medicines for 88 Gold each (6,160 g) Rinse and repeat with the following recipes (you have to change it up or the vendor will wise up and not pay top dollar for a particular item). Strong Medicine + Strong Medicine = Special Medicine (4x medicinal herbs selling for 170g in the end) Medicinal herb + Antidote herb = Strong Antidote (95g) Medicinal herb + Antidote herb + Moonwart Bulb = 280g Med + Med + Moonwart = 148g Moon + Moon + Moon = 308g There's a few more high-earning recipes, but using all of the above will yield millions of gold at a fraction of the time it would take to grind it killing monsters.

  1. Save Anywhere (No church necessary)

    To save anywhere, go into "Misc." in the menu. Go down to "Download Bonus Items". Even if there are no items to download this will still ask to save you current progress to download a bonus item. Using this method, you can save anywhere as long as you have access to the menu.

  2. Easy Metal Slime (or any Monster) Spawn Exploit

    Basically, you pan the camera (the overworld camera! NOT the new camera feature) with L and R on an area where a monster spawns. To be more specific, near the Riverside Church going down to the river's bank where Metal Slime spawn, just when you enter the brown bank a monster should either to your left or right depending on where your camera was facing. Stand in between an area where they tend to spawn then pan it Left and Right with L and R. Whenever you look away and look again, a new monster should spawn each time. Keep doing this until a Metal Slime spawns then chase it making sure your camera is facing it or else there's a chance it'll disappear. Don't worry about not being fast enough to chase it, it'll tire out eventually and stop along the path, it won't disappear at the end like the monsters in DQVII. The Ruined Abbey works too but I find the poison pools to be annoying. This should generally work with any monster that spawns so it's also good for monster defeat collection if you're after specific monsters. This exploit works best with an area that's narrow so you can just stand still and pan Left and Right.
