A highly overlooked masterpiece.
From the minute I first saw a Nintendo Power article detailing Faxanadu, I knew I had to have it. Part of those feelings undoubtedly came from how The Adventure of Link had proven to me that action-oriented adventure/RPG... Read Full Review

A game that messes with your dreams...
Faxanadu was my first NES game (here in Brazil we had the Phantom System, a clone of NES). I didn't had heard a word about it till the box came to my hands. I was a little frustrated, cause I wanted another game (that I... Read Full Review

One of the best games for the NES. Colors and soundtrack give it a great atmosphere.
Faxanadu is a great game for the NES. Visually it stands out from the system's more colorful collection of games, and instead uses earthy tones with spots of muted reds and blues to create an amazing dark and gothic atmo... Read Full Review

Out of the handful of classics for the NES, make sure you play this one.
In Faxanadu you have lived in some sort of tree, with the elves, dwarves, and humans. However "The evil one" has corrupted the dwarves making them mutate into terrible creatures, and has taken all the life from the tree.... Read Full Review

In an age where side scrolling was fun, but RPG's were risky, Faxanadu pulls through to make it's mark
If you like RPG's you'd like this game, if you liked classic Mario or side scrolling Castlevania, you might like this as well. This was a combination of two elements in a sense, story with fights similar to Zelda II but ... Read Full Review

Faxanadu: The Adventure of Dink
This is a game that I had always wanted to play, but I must say it's not as good as i thought it would be. It's just not as good in story or gameplay as the Adventure of Link, from which it appears to be inspired . I j... Read Full Review

Classic in the veins of Zelda or Link.
This was a fairly good game. Hard at times, very unforgiven for a little 10 year old who can't concentrate that long. My brother took a liking to this game and it was the only one he played for over a year! Ok he wa... Read Full Review

Faxanadu is a good game in the same breed as Castelvania or Link.
Faxanadu was a great 2D adventure (with some aspects of ROG) game. This game reminds me of the Castlevania series where you travel through one level at a time with a final boss at the end of the critical levels. You need... Read Full Review

This is a game that, despite what people say, still stands the test of time.
In an era where Castlevania and the Legend of Zelda ruled the game market, platformers were being released left and right. Faxanadu was one of these games, but it is one that stands the test of time. Faxanadu has a v... Read Full Review

One of the best games ever made for any platform. About as close to perfection as had been achieved.
This was the first game that I ever fell in love with. I find it hard to find a fault in it, even perhaps its biggest flaw, replayability, is a minor one because there are so many different ways to go about things. Yo... Read Full Review
