Unlimited Hearts in Adventure Mode
Completing the story of Adventure Mode by defeating Bowser and Dr. Eggman for the first time will give you unlimited hearts, meaning that you cannot gain or lose any from further attempts of missions until Adventure Mode is reset.

Four villain characters can be unlocked in Adventure Mode, through the actions listed below:

Secret Shop
After a few hours of play time or completing a Festival Mode, you'll receive a note saying there may be a secret shop in the shopping district. Go there, and stop the camera between the far left and middle buildings -- aim the pointer at the shop down the alleyway between the two to reach the Secret Shop.

Guaranteed Perfect Seating in Skeleton and Bobsleighing
In Skeleton and Bobsledding, the final step of your launch sequence involves pressing the A Button as soon as the prompt for it appears to get your character(s) seated onboard their vehicle once they get up to speed pushing it off, and you are rated on how soon you press the button to get an additional speed boost. As there is no game mechanic in place to punish players who press the button too early before it appears, you can repeatedly mash the A Button just as your character(s) get their vehicle up to speed to always get a "perfect" rating in the final seating step, as such action is no different from the very difficult act of instantly pressing the A Button right at the moment the prompt appears on screen.

You can unlock special costumes for Miis while playing. Mii Character Costumes not only change your Miis appearance, but they also adjust the Mii's Statlines to match the character. Playable Character Costumes are unlocked simply by playing a lot of different events with the respective characters. However, there are some special costumes that can only be unlocked via special means.

A while into the game, you will get mail stating that certain characters are in certain dream events cheering you on. Two of those characters will give you costumes if you spot them.
