Skip The End boss battle.
After caves and after the river with the guards on the hovercrafts, enter the next area and a cutscene will begin. As soon as the cutscene ends pull out your SVD sniper rifle and aim it at The End in his wheelchair. Before he gets taken away, shoot the guard in the head, then shoot The End in the head a few times. If done corectly The End will say something and explode. Later in the game when you get to the jungle where the fight was supposed to be, you wont have to fight him and the jungle will be filled with guards from the Ocelot unit.

Extra Cut Scenes
When Snake is captured in the prison cell, do not eat the food the guard throws you. Instead, throw the food back out of the cell to the card. Continue to do this 2 more times for a total of 3 times and this will trigger a hidden cut scene.

Extra Waterfall Scene with Eva
After you escape from the cell, don't use Cure to take out the transmitter in your back. If the transmitter is in you when you meet up with Eva behind the waterfall, there will be an extra very funny scene where she takes it out of you.

Ocelot Time Paradox
After the cut scene where you first meet Ocelot, knife (or shoot if you have the Patriot) him to death. Once you kill him the game over screen will pop-up and say "OCELOT IS DEAD." Cambell will then yell at Snake for creating a time paradox.

Eat The End's parrot
In the cutscene that begins the battle against The End, his parrot flies away. Search the area using the Thermal Goggles and you will eventualy find a bird sitting in a tree or on a stump behind you. This is also a sign that The End is nearby. You can either kill the bird, which will trigger The End cursing your name and swearing revenge, or capture it. Either way the parrot still appears in the cutscene where The End dies. If you captured the bird, contact Para-Medic to have a conversation about the bird. It offers very little stamina but tastes good. If you killed or captured the bird, it also appears as a ghost during the battle against The Sorrow.

-
The 3 Sons Snakes
During the final battle with The Boss, equip the Thermal Goggles and search for 3 snakes in the field. These snakes are Snake Liquid, Snake Solid, and Snake Solidus. Anyone who has played 'Sons of Liberty' will notice that they are the names of the three 'Sons of Big Boss'. Each snake has a great taste and recovers a great amount of stamina.

Taming The Bees
After getting the hornet stripe camo (defeating The Pain via stamina kill) you have the ability to "tame" bees while wearing the hornet stripe uniform. Heres how you do it (while wearing hornet stripe camo): Shoot down a beehive while underneath it (or close enough to it so the bees fall NEAR you). The bees will then be swarming around you! Now go attack some enemys (or go near them) so they can feel the pain.

Revolver Ricochet
As demonstrated by Major Ocelot early in the game, the bullets on the Colt Single Action Army revolver are capable of ricocheting. Simply equip the SAA and fire at a non-volatile structure such as a rock formation, metal crate or wall and watch the bullet deflect off the surface. If mastered properly, this can be used to shoot enemies hiding behind structures or even around corners!

What do you like?
When beginning a new game you are prompted with three questions:
"This is my first MGS game"
"I like MGS1"
"I like MGS2"
Selecting this is my first MGS game has the regular opening. Selecting I like MGS1 makes your stamina drop slower. Selecting I like MGS2 gets you a special intro.Contributed by: BigBoss19

Make Eva vomit
Similar to making Snake spew, when you're escorting Eva to the lake, go into the cure option in the Survival Viewer to look at Eva and then use the analog sticks to spin her around several times. When you resume gameplay, Eva will vomit. Repeat this enough times and she will complain about stomach cramps and say other funny comments but this will also diminish her stamina quicker.

Secret R1 Cutscenes
At the end of Virtious Mission, Hold R1 in the cutscene after Snake has healed himself. You will be able to look around when it is not indicated that you can and you can see The Sorrow's body.
After you've climbed the mountain, hold R1 during the cutscene where Snake is spying on Volgin on the base. You can see The Boss ride off on her horse and EVA do the "handgesture".After being tortured, hold R1 as Ocelot leaves the room. The Boss does the "handgesture".After defeating the Shagohod, hold R1 and when EVA goes to hug Snake you can see The Sorrow behind her. After defeating The Boss, when her horse walks up, hold R1. You can see the ghosts of The Boss and The Sorrow. When the President goes to shake Snake's hand, hold R1 and look to the left. Ocelot is outside the window. When Snake is at the graveyard, hold R1. Quick Draw Revolver Duel
During the battle with Major Ocelot, if you unequip your current weapon and stand out in the open for a few seconds, there were be a secret cutscene where Ocelot accepts Snake's challenge for a quick-draw duel. Ocelot will then stand and face off against Snake and the game will automatically switch to First Person View. Quickly equip your weapon again and when you're ready, aim your weapon and fire! (The object of a quick draw duel is to draw your weapon first and fire but not cheat by drawing too early.)

Bats in Cave
In the cave, bats attack you if you run. But if you use the active sonar and send out a 'ping', the bats will stop coming after you. That is because bats use sonar to see, they attack the strange noises snake is making and using the sonar tricks them into thinking you are just another bat.

Enter a tight space, like a vent, and as SOON as the camera begins to move into 'Intrusion Mode' aka First Person immediatly equip the binoculars. Starving and poorly equipped enemies
Throughout the game, you will find several storehouses of food (Where you'll find items like Instant Noodles and Calorie Mates) and ammunition (Often where you find new weapons). If you have some TNT in your inventory, plant a piece inside a storehouse, stand back, and detonate it. You'll know the trick worked if the room becomes charred and black. If you do this to a food storehouse, enemies in the nearby screens will complain about their hunger, helping you detect them easily. If you destroy an ammo warehouse, guards will have only one clip of AK ammo, then they will switch to a pistol, and eventually they will have to use a knife.

The End's Mercy
While fighting The End, climb a tree onto a ledge that is easily accessible to the old man. Lay down and take out your sniper rifle, go into first person, and search the trees, not necessarily looking for The End. You will eventually hear his footsteps behind you, but do not turn around. You will get a short cut scene where The End finds you and shoots you one with his rifle. Instead of killing you he says that you don't deserve to die that easily. He then proceeds to pick Snake up and carry him to the nearby jail where he will eventually awaken.

When fighting The Fear, before you beat him, let him hit you a few times with his crossbow. The bolts will stay in your body, and you are supposed to remove them through the Cure menu. If you go to your Cure menu, you will see them sticking out of you, but you can't remove them. They are visible with any camo you wear, but not visible during cutscenes.

Parrot to your advantage
During your battle with The End, if you capture his parrot (use a tranquilizer pistol) and then set it free, the parrot will squawk and circle over The End’s head; revealing his sniper position and allowing you to shoot him. After you shoot him, The End will then relocate and you can recapture the parrot and repeat this method until The End is defeated. If you find it difficult to recapture the parrot, move to another Sokrovenno area and then return and the parrot should be perched at one of its usual spots. If you find it difficult to spot the parrot circling over The End, use your directional microphone and listen for The End scolding his [loud mouth] parrot.

Easily deplete The Fear's stamina
While fighting The Fear, his main tactic is to jump from tree to tree in order to get the best shot possible on you. However, this depletes his stamina rather quickly, and like Snake, he needs to eat in order to keep himself going strong. As The Fear's stamina gauge decreases, he'll stop trying to attack you and begin using his crossbow to hunt for food instead. If he manages to catch enough of the local food sources, he will regenerate his stamina gauge; if you're a fan of scoring stamina kills on the bosses in order to get the secret uniforms in the game, The Fear's eating habits make it very difficult to deplete his stamina gauge in an honorable manner.
Thankfully, there is a cheap way to bypass the entire process. As soon as the battle starts, take poisoned pieces of food you have on stock and throw it into the middle of the area, then proceed to go on with the battle as you would normally. When The Fear's stamina gets low, he will cease to hunt for food and will instead go right for the food you threw out for him! Not only does this prevent The Fear's stamina from increasing, but it will actually decrease his stamina as well. Even better is that he'll stand there puking his guts up, which gives you all sorts of time to blast him with shots from your tranquilizer gun.It should be noted that the best place to harvest poisoned food is in the very area in which you fight The Fear himself; you have to go through it en route to the science lab before fighting The Fear on the way back. The area is full of poison frogs and poison mushrooms, so make sure to stock up in advance. The more poisoned food you throw out at the beginning of the fight, the easier a time you'll have.Contributed by: UltimaterializerX

Messing With Sokolov
During the Virtuous Mission, don't go to Sokolov directly. Instead, stay outside and stand near the room where he's hiding. You can elicit unique responses if you knock on the wall, shoot out the windows, or throw in live animals. You can even throw in a grenade, but that will cause a Game Over. If you try meeting Sokolov with the Mask equipped, it'll trigger a special radio call from the Major, who'll tell Snake to take it off. The reason is that Sokolov "won't like it."

Knifing The Fury's Suit
Normally, the The Fury's flameproof suit will tear open once it's taken enough shots. This makes him more vulnerable to things like Stun Grenades, tranquilizers, and fire. One knife combo will tear his suit, and he'll be vulnerable for the entire battle.

Groznyj Grad Delivery
When you reach the exterior of Groznyj Grad, look for a delivery truck on the western side of the base, under the arch near the tanks. Alternatively, there's another delivery truck in the northeast section, near the food storehouse. Climb in and equip a cardboard box. Doing so will trigger a cutscene in which a guard reads your box label and delivers you into one of the areas inside Groznyj Grad. The place to which you're delivered depends on which box you use. Box A leads to the East Wing of the Weapons Lab. Box B leads to the Shagohod Hangar. Box C leads to an armory in the eastern part of the fortress. This delivery method saves you the time and effort of trying to infiltrate the fortress in the usual way.

Using chaffs to avoiding backup and how to use the tranquilizer
Key things to keep in mind when playing this game, especially on hard or any difficulty past easy:
Using Chaff Grenades, these really come in handy, when you need to keep from backup from being called on you. If you are playing this after getting the Infinite Face Paint, use it as many times as you may need to, I just discovered this, if it wears out while Caution mode is in effect, they may and have attempt to call again after the first time fails when the chaff first goes into effect, and if the chaff grenade disperses and they call again, if you throw the chaff grenade, they'll figure out something is wrong and send backup to check it out. So maybe after awhile, throw another one.
Technique on tranquilizing them from a distance, when they get in view, start shooting even you can't get an accurate head shot, they'll stop giving you a chance to shoot them in the head or constantly til they fall down.
Before firing, make sure you have the suppressor on, if you don't, use the chaffs.
Where to find the chaffs, you can get them at the beginning of Operation: Snake Eater by shaking one of the soldiers, if you forget, the only other place I found them after that was in the mountains, you can shake the first soldier you see for them or you can get them at the top right where an enemy is posted, he doesn't have one on him, but they are next to him.Contributed by: dlms1313

By looking around the corner from a wall or tree, you can get the enemy's attention without being caught, they'll come over to you and you can then use CQC on them, best if you have the Spirit camo and can go around behind them

Volgin's Assessments
Just before the torture sequence starts, Volgin will take the opportunity to check out Snake's body and give his opinion. His lines will actually change depending on the amount (a few, moderate, or several) of serious injuries Snake has gotten up to that point in the game.

Alternate Virtuous Mission Dialogue
After Snake talks to Sokolov for the first time, he'll report the mission status to Major Zero. The Major will ask him about the sentries, and Snake's lines will change based on your performance. If you killed them, Snake will say that he had to, but no one will know of the Americans' involvement. If you got an Alert, Snake will say that he managed to get past them. If you got to Sokolov undetected, Snake will say that no one spotted him.

Weaken The Shagohod Before Battle
Once you make it inside the Shagohod hangar, don't set all of the C3 yet. Instead, take the time to kill the maintenance crew. The more crew members you kill, the less HP the Shagohod will have when it activates.

2nd Ocelot Time Paradox
While killing Ocelot in the Virtuous Mission is the game's most famous easter egg, you'll get another chance near the end of Operation Snake Eater. During the boss fight with Volgin, Ocelot will pace around the top of the arena. If you shoot and kill him, it'll trigger another Time Paradox, complete with a voice cameo from Colonel Campbell.

Watering Down Volgin
During the boss fight with Volgin, take a look at the overhead walkway that spans the center of the room. The bottom of it is lined with with red pipes. Just in like The Fury battle, the pipes will leak water if you shoot them. If you do this while Volgin is nearby, the falling water will disrupt his electrical attacks.

A Fine Piece Of Literature
Once you've gotten a Magazine (the book item, not the empty ammo case), be sure to keep one in your inventory before Snake's first encounter with Volgin at Groznyj Grad. Once you've escaped the jail cell, call EVA to ask about Snake's equipment. If you had a Magazine beforehand, it'll trigger a humorous conversation in which she sarcastically calls it a "fine piece of literature" and jokes about distracting enemies.

EVA's New Game Plus Dialogue
Once you've beaten game once, play through again until you reach Bolshaya Past South, and call EVA. There will be a couple of new radio conversations. One has her talking about how she used to have a dog, and how she trained it. The other has her reflecting on how nice the Boss is, and mentioning how she carried EVA's bags once. In both conversations, EVA will offhandedly mention that she dreams about her dog or The Boss sometimes. This is a callback to one of the late-game easter eggs, in which you can tranq EVA and listen to her talk in her sleep. While still funny, these conversations change the context of her sleep talking.

TNT On Guards
If you've got some spare TNT and are confident in your sneaking skills, carefully try to get up close behind a guard and set the TNT. If done correctly, the TNT will attach to the guard's back without him noticing. This basically turns the guard into a walking explosive that you can remotely detonate as long as you stay in the same area.

Twirl the Colt Single Action Army!
Once you get the Single Action Army, you can twirl it by moving the 3DS system while in FPS aiming mode. This allows you to show off Snake's skill with a revolver and distract Ocelot during your duel with him at Bolshaya Past Crevice. When you're in the open, twirl your revolver and Ocelot will respond with his own revolver tricks and commentary.

Capturing The Pain's Hornets
When you fight The Pain, he'll occasionally perform an attack where a swarm of hornets will attach themselves onto Snake and cause damage. The normal way to get past this is to dive into the water. With a little planning beforehand, however, you can counter this with an unusual strategy. In the early areas of Operation Snake Eater, collect as many Baltic Hornet Nests as you possibly can. During the boss fight, equip the nests and let The Pain's hornets attach as usual. When they disperse, check your food inventory. Each Baltic Hornet Nest will be upgraded to a R.P.H Hive, which never spoils and completely restores all four of Snake's stamina bars.

Graniny Gorki Shortcut
Once you reach the Graniny Gorki Lab Exterior, equip the Scientist Uniform and walk right up to the nearest guard. It'll trigger a brief scene in which the guard mistakes you for a scientist trying to escape. You'll be put in an open cell inside Graniny Gorki. This saves you the time and effort of trying to infiltrate the building the normal way.

-
Poisoning The Fear
The Fear's biggest weakness is his stamina. It rapidly depletes throughout the battle, forcing him to climb down from the trees and hunt for food. With some preparation, you can take advantage of this. Save up some spare food and let it rot. Alternatively, you can stock up on poison animals and plants. You can find several of these in the forest before Graniny Gorki, which is where you fight The Fear on the way back. At the start of the battle, throw as much rotten and poison food as you can onto the battlefield. The Fear will inevitably get hungry and eat some. Not only does this drastically reduce his stamina and makes him sick, but it leaves him wide open to follow-up attacks.

-
Escort Sleeping EVA
The easiest way to escort EVA is to knock her unconscious, preferably with the EZ Gun or similar weapon. While she's sleeping, she won't lose stamina. That means you can save more food and supplies for yourself. It also reduces the risk of you getting spotted; you can leave EVA hidden somewhere, quietly take out the guards, and keep dragging her to the exit.

-
Absorbing Volgin's Electricity
Volgin's most common attack is shooting an arc of electricity, which instantly homes in on whatever metal weapon you have equipped. However, you can avoid this by throwing Russian Glowcaps around the room. They attract and absorb the electricity, which allows you to quickly bypass and counter the attack.

-
Easy Motorcycle Chase
After destroying the Shagohod and starting the motorcycle chase, equip the Cold War Camo. It prevents enemies from shooting at you as long as you're facing them. Since you'll be looking back at them during the entire chase, it's possible to complete this area without attacking or taking damage. Not only will your pursuers be unable to shoot, but they'll eventually give up or crash on their own.

Cure Food Poisoning Without Medicine
If Snake is suffering from food poisoning, you can cure it without using your medical supplies. Go into the Cure menu and enter the model viewer mode. Spin Snake's model around several times, and exit the menu. Snake will vomit, which will cure his illness at the cost of some of his stamina. This trick also works with EVA when she's in your party.

-
Flameproof Cardboard Box
Despite its appearance, the Cardboard Box is actually flameproof. This is best demonstrated during the fight against The Fury. If Snake catches on fire, simply equip the box to extinguish the flames. As long as you have it equipped, any fire that is on the ground will not cause damage. This is immensely useful for navigating the hallways during the fight. However, the Cardboard Box can't stand up to a direct, close-ranged hit from The Fury's flamethrower; the force of the blast will knock the box off of Snake.

Secondhand Smoking The Boss
The most effective weapon to use against The Boss is the Cigarette Gas Gun. It can be used in tandem with Snake's CQC, and unlike with other guns, The Boss can't disarm you if it's equipped. It has a longer range than Snake's punches, can damage The Boss while she's on the ground, and can even interrupt her shooting and walking animations. This can be used to exploit the AI during the fight; The Boss is programmed to only fire her gun from a distance. If you get as close to The Boss as possible - to the point that the characters' models are touching each other - she won't shoot. This leaves her wide open for an attack for several seconds. You have the option of blowing the gas while she's still standing, or using it as a follow-up attack after you've knocked her down via Snake's CQC countermoves. All you have to do is get close, switch to first person view to aim and blow the gas, switch back to third person view to maintain walking speed and proximity, wait for her to recover, and start the process again. She will occasionally try to use CQC, but will walk backward and try to run away far more often. If timed well, you can trap her in a loop of walking and getting hit with the gas. As long as you can counter The Boss's CQC with your own, you can kill her with the Cigarette Gas Gun in only a couple of minutes.

The EZ gun is normally only available on easy mode. It gives you a minimum camo of 80%, has unlimited ammo and is a silenced tranquilizer that will restore your stamina as long as it is equipped. Note that you only have to obtain one of each type of plant/animal, and not actually eat them. The EZ gun does count as a special item so will disqualify you from obtaining some of the higher ranks in the game.

Dazing a Guard
Whenever the '!' or '?' icon appears above an enemy's head, and you shoot it, (this is tricky) the the guard appear to be intoxicated and have some white bubbles floating from his head, giving you a few seconds to either run away, or to attack the dazed guard.

Find Secret Codec Frequency to Call Off Alerts
If you enter alert mode, capture any nearby guard and interrogate him. Sometimes, the guard will tell you a Codec frequency that can be contacted to call off the alert. These frequencies change after they are first used, but there will always be a new one available whenever you trigger alert mode.

Bats in Cave
In the cave, bats attack you if you run. But if you use the active sonar and send out a 'ping', the bats will stop coming after you. That is because bats use sonar to see, they attack the strange noises snake is making and using the sonar tricks them into thinking you are just another bat.

Hint : Anger Volgin
When fighting Volgin the first time you can wear the Ivan’s(Raiden's) mask and he will think you are the major and hesitate from attacking you. You will have a chance to shoot him a few times without him attacking. He will realize who you are after a while and become angry and attack more frequently.

Distract Voligin
Before you fight Volgin be sure to capture a living tree frog. When you are fighting him equip the tree frog as a weapon and throw it somewhere where volgin will see it. After he sees it he should say something then jump back he will then be vulnerable for a few seconds(until he kills the frog) allowing you time to get a few cheap shots in.

Capturing The Pain's Hornets
When you fight The Pain, he'll occasionally perform an attack where a swarm of hornets will attach themselves onto Snake and cause damage. The normal way to get past this is to dive into the water. However, there is a much more beneficial strategy. Before the boss fight, equip as many empty Hornet's Nests as possible. After the hornets attach themselves and disperse, check your inventory again. All of those empty Hornet's Nests will be changed to Hives of Pain Hornets, which revive four bars of stamina.

Escape The Jail Cell Via Motion Sickness
After you get locked in the jail cell, open the Cure menu and access the model viewer. Use the right stick to quickly spin Snake around for several seconds, then exit the menu. EVA Bikini Model
You'll need to save some Instant Noodles for this. As soon as the EVA escort section starts, go into the menu and feed EVA the Instant Noodles. Then, go into the Cure Menu. EVA's character model will be clad only in a bikini, and she'll make a few unique poses. Note that this only works if you feed her the Instant Noodles at the very start of the escort section.

Destroy The Log Bridge
During the EVA escort section, you can walk on a downed log that serves as a bridge over a chasm. If you have some spare TNT, you can actually blow it up and prevent the enemy soldiers from pursuing you. Just make sure that you're both safely across before blowing it; falling into the chasm will trigger a Game Over.

Messing With EVA
You probably already know that you can put EVA to sleep or get her to recite the Konami Code during the escort section. However, there are a few other ways to mess with her. Staring at her in First Person View will elicit some annoyed responses, as well as doing so while pointing a gun at her, or having the Cardboard Box or Croc Cap equipped. She'll be shocked if you use the Fake Death and Revival Pills once in front of her, but won't be fooled if you try it multiple times. If you try crawling near her, she'll say that it "isn't the time or place for that" and a couple of other lines. If she's knocked out while in a body of water, her body will be covered in mud when she wakes up. If you punch her without knocking her out, she'll occasionally retaliate with a kick if her stamina is high enough. If you contact Major Zero after attacking her, your entire support team will yell at you. If you interrogate her, one of the alternate lines she'll say is "35 26 34" which are the measurements of her body. Lastly, killing her will trigger a Time Paradox Game Over just like Ocelot's classic easter egg, complete with a voice cameo from Colonel Campbell.

Hidden Cure Menu Poses
Snake and EVA will have different poses in the Cure Menu depending on their health status and the time of day your system is set to. If they have 2 or less injures, they'll look worn out. If they have 3 or more injures, they'll barely be able to stand. If they catch a cold, they'll sneeze. If they're poisoned, they'll be doubled over and little purple bubbles will appear over their heads. If you're playing between 5:00 AM to 6:59 AM, they'll be doing morning exercises. If you're playing between 9 PM - 11:59 PM, they'll be either flexing or making pinu-up model-style poses. If you're playing between 12:00 AM to 2:59 AM, Snake will be embarrassed and hide his crotch, and EVA will crawl around and make seductive poses. Note that the time-based poses happen randomly, and the frequency of them will increase if their health is full.

The Sorrow's Thermal Skull
When you get to the end of the Virtuous Mission, you're prompted to open the Cure Menu to progress the story. Don't do it. Instead, stay on the regular gameplay screen and rotate the 3rd person camera to look to the left of Snake's body. You'll see The Sorrow's skeleton. However, you can take this a step further if you picked up the Thermal Goggles that were hidden near the start of the mission. Equipping them will reveal that that The Sorrow's skull is giving off heat, hinting that there's more to The Sorrow's remains than meets the eye.
