Unlimited levelling up and easy exp
Normally all enemies stop giving you star points when you pass a certain level and you\'re forced to visit a new area to be able to build any levels. However, there is one hidden enemy in the game you can fight repeatedly regardless of your level and will give you over 40 star points, the equivalent of fighting 40 easy enemies.
In the flower fields, take the bottom right hand path and cross the spikes with lakilister. A glowing amayzee dayzee will randomly appear with 1/4 odds. It may run away, so try a dizzy spin attack to daze it before the battle starts and kill it in two turns for massive star points. Travel two screens away and repeat the battle to hit the max level easily.Contributed by: BigCow

Shocked Luigi
To give Luigi a real scare, exit Boo's Mansion BEFORE getting Lady Bow. Return to Toad Town (You still have to fight Jr. Troopa, darn it), jump into your Pipe, and return home. Enter Mario's room and look for a strange-looking part of the floorboards (Entrance to Luigi's Diary). Go through and Luigi will be writing in his diary. He sees you, becoming stunned for a moment, then fleeing.
For fun only. Does NOT affect storyline or Luigi's Diary entries.Contributed by: baconlabs

Avoid using FP
If you can pull off a FP-consuming attack outside of battle (Such as a Spin Jump) and get a First Strike, you will automatically use that attack in battle without using any FP. This also works for Mario's partners' attacks.

Avoid fighting the buzzard
On Mt. Rugged, when you encounter the Buzzard enemy, tell it that your name is Luigi, and you won't have to fight it.

Skip Anti-Guy Battle
Anti-Guy, the super powerful Shy Guy found in Shy Guy's Toy Box, can be a very difficult fight. To skip fighting him and get the chest he is guarding (containing an attack power+ badge), you can bring him a Lemon Candy. Talk to him and he'll ask if he can have it, and if you say yes, he'll take it and run off. He'll never come back, so you'll lose any XP you would have normally gained by fighting him. A Lemon Candy can be made with a Lemon and Cake Mix. The Lemon can be found in the Dry Dry Desert level. Bring them to Tayce T in the main town and she'll make one for you.

Glitched Item: Electro Pop
The game's description for the Electro Pop states it will heal 15 FP. This is true when you use it in the field. However, for an unknown reason, if used in battles, Electro Pop heals your FP so that your FP is equal to your current HP plus 15. (For example: using an Electro Pop in battle, when you have 20 HP, will heal your FP to 35, or to your maximum FP if it's less than 35.)
Thus, while the amount it heals is variable, if you're at high HP it can heal much larger amounts of FP than intended!Contributed by: Anonymous

Glitched Item: Kooky Cookie
The game's description for the Kooky Cookie states it will heal 15 FP. This is true when you use it in the field. However, for an unknown reason, if used in battles, Kooky Cookies actually heal 30 FP - twice as much as intended! (Of course, you still have to deal with the random status effect.)

Thwart the Koopa Bros opening spinning attack.
They start out in that formation to attack after the fake Bowser they were in is destroyed. Most cases they'll open with their full attack first. But if you deplete the first part with Mario and have your partner with a remaining turn to attack, Bombette's Bomb attack will immediately break their formation and get them to all fall to the ground.

Duplicate Happy Flower Badges
When you get to Flower Fields, hit the trees as you normally would in order to acquire the Happy Flower Badge. However, don't pick up the badge. Instead, repeat the process again; a second Happy Flower Badge will spawn. As long as you don't pick any badges up, the game won't register that you completed the task. You can spawn up to 56 badges with this method.

Softlock the game in the Prologue
In the opening clash with Bowser, if you hack the game to make Mario's attack power high enough to bypass Bowser's increased power and deplete Bowser's HP, the game will softlock and you need to reset. The clash is intended to be lost and winning will just lead to nothing.

Find Star Piece panels with Ultra Hammer
Once you get the Super Boots then later, Ultra Boots, you can do your Spin Jump or later Tornado Jump to break through panels on the floor or find hidden ones with Star Pieces. But once you have the Ultra Hammer, just using that on the ground will work the same for finding Star Pieces in hidden panels.
