StarTropics still stands as one of the best in the action adventure genre, rivaling the great Zelda itself.
Although it can be compared to the original Legend of Zelda in some ways, StarTropics offers its own distinct brand of adventure that is often superior to its more enduring counterpart. If you were disappointed in Ninten... Read Full Review

A Quirky R.P.G. Adventure Game That Is Still Fun and Challenging In Its Own Way!
While Nintendo is often known for often sticking with reliable franchises to turn into video games, there have been occasions when Nintendo has deviated from their formula, and have released unique video game experiences... Read Full Review

Who?! Mike Jones!
"Back then no one wanted me, now I'm still hot and no one on me." Star Tropics is a slept-on, timeless classic that still holds up to today's standards and exceeds every expectation. From the gameplay to the unforget... Read Full Review

Diserves a better sequal
Star Tropics is one of my favorite games in the NES library. There was a sequal to this game called Zoda's Revenge, and it sucked. Star Tropics is about a kid named Mike who's grandpa goes missing and goes on an epic adv... Read Full Review

Adventure Islands
This as you guessed it is another under the radar classic gem I love. The main problem with the game isn't so much that it's underrated or overlooked. But this game like sometimes a great movie or TV show despite the s... Read Full Review

StarTropics is solid but can also be frustrating, making it best suited for adventure fans who like a stiff challenge.
Released in 1990 for the NES, StarTropics built on the gameplay formula laid out by the original Legend of Zelda, and also tweaked it in some pretty significant ways. The resulting game is solid but also potentially quit... Read Full Review

A throw back to zelda's style, StarTropics takes action adventure to a whole new level with a fun story!
Released back in 1991 (I was 5), StarTropics follows Mike on an epic adventure to save his Uncle from mysterious abductors. The over world and dungeon exploring is much like the Legend of Zelda, but the dungeons are zoom... Read Full Review

Are you ready for a lesser-known adventure, that is almost just as good as The Legend of Zelda itself?
If you were playing StarTropics for the very first time, you'll notice one thing about the file select, it's pretty much exactly the same thing as Zelda's (on NES). This will probably make you instantly think that the g... Read Full Review

Okay, let me preface my review with the fact that I can appreciate this as an above average pseudo 3-D action adventure.
On another level I hate this game I find that most games of this ilk are boring and provide me with nothing to spotlight as a bright point. I think that this game is probably the best of its type. I like this way more th... Read Full Review

Yo-yo: The Weapon of Champions.
Star Tropics...one of the funniest, most unique games on the NES. It's shining achievement, however, was to teach kids everywhere that a yo-yo could be used effectively as a weapon, and should you use it enough, you can... Read Full Review
