It's a budget title for kids...what do you expect?

I love Garfield comics, but never thought I would actually buy any of the video games. But this title, for some odd reason, was able to snag my attention mostly because it wasn't another movie tie-in. Sometimes you just want to enjoy a good platformer. Sorry to say, that this isn't a "good" platformer, but falls somewhere around "fair", but then you factor in the budget price, and you have a good game to keep you busy on a long car trip. There's nothing new here at all...you walk through the levels (it's Garfield...running isn't his style), jump over obstacles, find a few bonus mini-games, and bounce off the bad guys' heads. It's a very familiar formula with little (if any) variation. So what makes it appealing? Well, a $20 price tag doesn't hurt., and the visuals are quite good. Colorful graphics and decently large level design make this a game most kids can enjoy. The difficulty level is quite low, and it is a bit short for the older and hardcore gamers (4 worlds divided up into 16 levels with 4 bosses), but this is one to share with your kids.
