Gauntlet, fun, simple, great if you have people over, gets old after level 30.
User Rating: 7.5 | Gauntlet X360
Gauntlet is a classic arcade game that I remember playing on my NES several years ago. Now remade on the 360, it is just as fun as ever. It isn't much fun solo, but log on to Xbox Live or call a few buddies over and this game is amazing. As you may or may not have noticed the 360 does lack 4 player splitscreen multiplayer and Gauntlet makes up for it a bit. If you enjoy playing in the company of others and are craving some good old fashioned hack 'n' slash, dungeon explorin, treasure hunting awesomeness, Gauntlet is for you. Now the problems with Gauntlet. The game is fun and all but if your playing with friends at your house (not on Live) the game will never ever end. Gauntlet gives you the feature of continual respawns forever and ever and while that may be good for some people, I didn't like it. It made the game stale and it had no objective. Although this feature is a must for the games 'Get to Level 100' achievement worth 60 points. The highest I've gotten was 54 and it took me and my buddies 2 1/2 hours! Meanwhile online the game is downright difficult to beat as once you die, your dead unless someone from your party makes it to the next level. If no one does you have to restart from the beginning. Overall Gauntlet is fun, easy to handle, great with company, and a classic. A must buy for any arcade gamer.
