GAUNTLET DARK LEGACY!!! MWAHAHAHA!!!

Okay, basically, GDL is an arcade game fitted onto a disc and put on a console. So as you'd expect, the graphics aren't exactly revolutionary. The gameplay is simple but annoying, fight through hundreds of respawning enemies whilst destroying generators, fighting the occasional boss and basicall working your way through all the levels. The upside to this is that there are things to find and do besides fight, there are rune stones to collect to open a portal, gold dragon fangs, claws and feathers kto open additional levels, gold, treasure and powerups to find as well as hidden characters to unlock and play as. An even more redeeming feature is that the game can be played between 4 players at once, so it gets more interesting. However, for those who find the games action tedious, they may not want to complete the large amount of levels. Of which there are 5 in each world, with the last 1 being a boss fight, which are pretty hard to say the least. Anyways, back to the graphics, like I said, they are arcade-ish, including all the special effects, detail of monsters and characters and all the glorious things off the retro ages. Music is pretty standard as well, each world with its own set of scores, but is still pretty samey. As for variety in characters there are quite a few, each with thier own statistics that upgrade with every kill and bit of treasure you collect. The treasure is used to buy power ups and food for health rather than skills. Enemies are in great varieties however all of which have the same attack list but different skins, so it's really only one type. In full, GDL is a standard arcade hack and slash redeemed by multiplayer and unlockables but is still far from perfect.
