A good game for people who don't play games often

User Rating: 7.3 | Gauntlet Legends N64
This game isn't exactly the best thing to grace the N64, but it certainly was a fun mulitiplayer experience. At the time I didn't mind that the combat was an endless repetition of button mashing and waiting till your turbo powers charged. Though it wasn't completely mindless since you had potions you could throw and use as shields. The most fun with this game comes from playing with other people. Running around the map together, slashing and shooting arrows, dividing up who needs health the most. It was all just good clean multiplayer fun.

It's simplistic gameplay makes it instantly accessible to people who don't play games often. It only took my girlfriend 15 mins to almost get as good as me at Gauntlet Legends, compared to when it took her 15 mins just to learn how to move and look around in Halo 2.

There is a fair amount of replay value to game, unlocking the bonus characters and collecting all the runes; all while you try to level up your character with XP. I vaguely remember about 5 different worlds at the start, with maybe 2 other hidden ones you got as you wrapped up the campaign. Each zone had it's own unique looking creatures, even though they were just texture swaps since they all behaved the same. Each zone did have it's own unique end boss, which is about the only break in repetition this game gives you.
